To think about my favourite music is like thinking about my happiest day or my saddest day or my most tired moment or my favourite person.
Truth is, my life is dynamic and I believe it is so with everyone else.
What makes me happiest now, may be overtaken the next minute by something else and my favourite music now may not have been my favourite music last year.
Even within the same time period, I have a favourite music for washing clothes and one for driving. I also have a special music for reading and one for working, etc. Hardly does any music cut it across all my activities but "coat of many colours" by Dolly Parton is among my favourite for almost all my activities so I regard it as my favourite song.
The song is a perfect blend of everything that makes a music good, lacking in none.
It has a good lyrics with a strong message about contentment, self esteem and love. The lyrics was accompanied by a beautiful country beat that made it all the more rich.
Not to mention the angelic voice of Dolly Parton.
Ths song always leaves me wanting more and as such I end up putting it on repeat regardless of the activity I am engaged in. It is among the few songs I can sing word for word and even mimic the sounds of the beat.
This was among the songs I was introduced to me by my dad when I was a little boy.
My dad personally taught me the lyrics of the song, explaining to my inquisitive little mind everything about the song especially the message behind it.
I remember those days like it was yesterday, singing together to the sound of "coat of many colours" as he drove me to or from school.
Somehow, this song also ensured that I never felt pressured to acquire trendy stuffs because my friends could. Contentment was always my watchword. Even when my parents gave me a present and my classmates or neighbours felt it was not of greatest "value" I never thought about their words because this song always came to mind. The love in the present is worth more than the present itself.
I have practiced the song a few times but I don't feel worthy yet to perform it. You know that moment when you respect a song so much that only the best version of it is acceptable. That's my story with this song.
I had to attach a link for my readers who may not know the song to go and feed their ears while those who know it and wish to reminisce on it can also have their wish with ease.
I would make sure to teach this song to my children too, when the time comes and that the message of the song is imbibed in them. Contentment is a virtue, one that is gradually leaving our society as greed, pride and the show off lifestyle does not permit contentment to thrive.
The song is a song fit for many occasions if not all.

Listening to Dolly Parton is always nice, it particularly gives me a boost of tranquility and encouragement to live, it seems to me that it has a lot to do with Christian music, the kind you hear in church choirs. It is motivating and comforting.
Without music, our world would be very sad, it seems to me.
Yes, the motivation and comfort is a beautiful experience.
This is so cool, when music positively influences our lives!
Yes, that's part of the beauty.
Indeed, she gave us a real song. It touches every aspect of life especially with the Bible story. Her voice on the song is another beautiful story on it's own hehe.
Indeed, she blessed our ears.
