Libraries in The Tech Age

Back in the days, going to the library to read was one of the few ways for one to get access to quality books. It was non-negotiable for students and bookworms to require a library frequently.

In my undergraduate days, I used the library so much that I had a special seat. A few people who knew me could never sit on that seat and if they saw someone coming to sit on it, they would inform you that it belongs to someone, lol. It was that serious.

I was more regular than the librarians and they all knew me because I came before them most of the time and only left when it was time to close the library.

As the years went by, I had to change locations because my study required it. This new location did not have a library and I suffered it.
There's no place like a library when it comes to reading. It is designed to facilitate reading even in the lazy. Apart from a few people who are the exceptions, the library is the best option.

Despite technological advancements, the library is still a necessary institution that drives growth across all sectors.
The library is like that multipurpose space that can be used for almost anything as long as you are not disturbing the next person.

You can read the books in the library, you can read the books you come with. You can refer to the books in the library and solidify the knowledge gotten from yours.
You can read from a computer while in the laptop or work on a project, you can start your tech journey using your laptop while in the library.

These days we see people seek it out working space for their remote jobs, you can use the library for that. And for anything that demands you to seek some peace and quiet inorder to focus and achieve goals.

We still need libraries, the utility of books is immeasurable. Whether traditional books, modern books etc.
Bear in mind that technological advancements does not mean that the old systems are no longer needed.
For example, people are still studying literature, history, architecture, etc and those books that are seen as traditional are still important to them.

The importance of libraries to students cannot be overemphasized especially in the formative years. Also the library is a good place to those who lack the discipline of staying in their rooms and achieving the concentration required to succeed. And there are many like this.

Imagine the wealth of knowledge in libraries, where would they be kept of we are to do away with libraries?
It's not like libraries require a fortune to build, it's not a demanding institution especially when compared to many others.
So rather than getting rid of libraries, they should be upgraded and updated.

It is the digital age and libraries should be digitalised.
There should be functional ICT sections where people can use to achieve technological breakthroughs.

Libraries helped people to access books which were too expensive for them and by so doing they could learn from resources that would have been beyond their reach.
Likewise, a digital library should allow people the opportunity to use expensive computers and sophisticated softwares which would ordinarily be beyond them. That way they can achieve great things from small places.

Well, there is nothing but sentimental and community value in libraries...
people learn more by finding stuff faster.
people become better people by meeting people, and being social...

I think there's more to it than sentimental values, finding stuff faster may not necessarily correspond to using stuff.
Besides finding stuff can be fast even in libraries too.

i can assure you, its much much much much faster, like typing this comment...

Of course, I agree with you but the speed is not the only factor to be considered.

Despite technological advances, the physical library serves the purpose that ebooks and online libraries can never.

The library is a motivating place; even if anyone doesn't feel like reading a page, they will see others.

Traditional libraries are better as it is not only a place for reading, people can connect with other people there.
