I love hamburgers, don't touch my hamburgers, Canada!

Probably most people will write about unbanning crypto as the main challenge in their country. But here in Canada, still isn't banned. They are trying to create some rules to make things more difficult, for example, Ontario, a Canadian Province, created a limit on altcoins trading. Despite the federal government making a webpage which starts saying that crypto is not legal in Canada, it isn't banned. It is just saying that there isn't any legislation supporting crypto and that could be risky. It sounds more like a warning. Canada is a place where it is difficult to find totally forbidden things since they praise a lot the freedom of each citizen. However, there is stuff that is prohibited that for me they could feel. Things that in my native country Brazil aren't forbidden. Those are: selling medium rare hamburgers in restaurants and drinking alcohol in public.

When I left Brazil there was hype around new stores selling their own hamburgers. People were reinventing one of the most popular fast foods in the world with homemade buns, and homemade burgers with different percentages of meat mixes. Different cow cuts with pork cuts for example. Even sometimes homemade cheese! It was a thing to try a different hamburger place in every corner. And if you like your burger medium rare, it is juicer and it is the usual recommended by these places, a little bit pinkish in the middle. I arrived in Canada thinking, well I am in North America, here is the homeland of burgers. But different from their US brothers, here in Canada is illegal to serve medium rare burgers. There is a rule that the internal cooking temperature is 71°C (160°F) . So all meats we have this rule? nope. A whole cut of a steak can be cooked medium rare with temperatures below this one. Sounds crazy? Well, the theory is the following. When you ground the beef, all the pieces of the beef, including the internal ones, touch the grounder, so you have more probability of getting every small piece of the beef that was grounded with bacteria. That doesn't happen with the interior of a steak that is sterile it doesn't touch anything before your knife cuts it. I am a biologist, working with microbiology, I should have been the first one to be paranoid about it. Nope. I eat raw oysters despite knowing that they are a big source of bacterial infections in people. I eat raw fish in sushi too. Interesting that both cited raw food are not illegal. We can't live paranoid like that, sometimes we can get an infection eating regular cooked food in a restaurant that wasn't a very clean place. Or even a well-cooked food that by accident was touched by a fly! In my opinion, food management should be very well controlled, Laws are needed. The stupid, in my opinion, law for hamburgers can be contorted by inspecting the restaurants and checking if the grinder is periodically washed and the cookers have good hygiene while cooking. Of course, it is difficult to keep 100% of the time control of all restaurants in the country, but that is how it should work, not forbidding something like that. In my opinion, or you change that or just ban all raw foods that are more sensate, of course, I would hate that.

Parece loucura? Bem, a teoria é a seguinte.

Another thing that I was used to in Brazil, was drinking beer at street events, like Carnival, or even with friends on any other occasion. When I arrived in New Brunswick surprised that we couldn't drink any alcohol on the streets, but yes, you still have bars, restaurants, and your home to drink it. But how? A country where you can buy even marijuana legally sold by the government? Well, you can't also smoke marijuana in public. There isn't a scientific explanation behind that, but it is more a culture of associating public drinking and public ways to display how you are drunk or driving drunk, which isn't acceptable. But even if you are allowed to drink in private places like your home or restaurant, people still get out drunk in the street, and can be dangerous while driving for example. I am totally supported by the law banning the mix of drugs (including alcohol) and driving. That is dangerous for everyone. Some cities are now implementing some relaxed rules for drinking in parks, even Toronto allows this summer people to drink in parks only. But for me is still weird when there is a public event in the street and there is a fenced area where people can buy and drink alcohol. Does it make any sense? Again like the last paragraph, for me both rules or you totally permit the consumption of these things or just forbid them at once. There is a town close by the city where I live that is proud to be the only city in Canada that totally banned alcohol, including the selling, which makes more sense than half-prohibiting things.

I think bear or alcohol is common thing in America or Canada like countries and there's no prohibition of use it in public but although Pakistan is Muslim country and bear is Haram to Muslim so it's banned here but non Muslim have authority to drink alcohol in Pakistan because it's not haram in their religion

I think bear or alcohol is common thing in America or Canada like countries and there's no prohibition of use it in public...

so that's what I am talking it is prohibited to drinking in the streets and parks, with some new exceptions now. You can drink in restaurants and private houses. So it is a bit contradictory.

ahhahahaha . A friend of mine was a teacher in Qatar, he told me how was the trick to buy alcohol there lol . just curiosity, all beer is produced outside of the country right?

 last year

Yes you're right too but as dlm said now you can see empty bottle of beer in Pakistan too and many Muslim drink alcohol too

 last year

And yeah! i know that is haram! I used to have a marocain friend, he claimed himself Muslim, and it was weird to see him drinking alcohol in a party! I told him that was haram, he said that he was more liberal. But then I argued , so why you don't eat pork as well? Then he said that it isn't a matter of religion, it is because he thinks pork is dirty 🤔

You know that the first governal general of Pakistan (Quaid e Azam) was a secular person, he drink's, ear pork as well, thing's changed here later when other PM came

Maybe you know about Quaid e Azam

In Pakistan some people say that they're liberal, secular and some says they're religious , people live their life according to their will 🙂

Many Muslim countries go through the same movements...some step forwards and then some backward... Iran is a good example of that!

Haha I wouldn't have imagined that junk foods can be banned also, why would they ban hamburgers?! 😅

This is interesting lol

I don't even know if it's funny or sad that while dangerous elements are allowed, harmless food like hamburgers have to suffer and be banned. We live in a crazy world indeed.
