This is my second post after my introductory post. I actually planned on writing daily to mingle with my people here on hive, but I have been caught up in a lot of activities, especially about what I'm about to write on. I am back now though!
I actually want to tell you a story. This story hasn't been up to a month, but it still hurts and feel like ranting about it.
So, what is this all about?😩 I have had a friend as a fresher in my university, we got so close that I shared my earnings on my jobs with him, as a means to save up. Basically, I use him as my bank, I send most of my bitcoin (this was my pay before I switched) to his wallet just for him to help me save up, I really trusted and made him my brother.
So I had saved up over a thousand dollar worth of btc with my friend. Once I earn, I keep 20% for myself then I send the rest to his wallet. Sincerely, I had lot of expenses and this was the only way I could save. If not, I would have just lavished all my earnings on some things that wouldn't have favored me.
Maybe I was stupid or dumb, I don't know 😅 So, on this faithful day, I messaged my friend, "hi brother, how are you doing? Thanks for helping me out when I had no one to run to, I would be needing all the token I have saved up with you in the next two weeks" Told him so he could be prepared anytime I need the funds.
He responded and said "Yes, no problem blood" I was so happy that at least, I had someone to bank on, someone I could be so proud of to call a friend
Now to the main gist, the anticipated day came to reality. I had relented since I had hit my target. I was so calm, I even ignored some jobs because all I just wanted was to relax and rest. I couldn't sleep the night before the D day, I messaged my friend the day before just to remind him that he would be sending all my savings with him, he gave me a positive response that I did not even bother to think otherwise.
So the day came, I messaged him, he didn't reply. It was very so unusual and I started to think maybe he was busy, but I needed my money😂 I called, he wasn't picking. I started to message him since morning till later at noon, he then replied, I was so calm when I saw his message notification.
When I opened his message, alas! He said he traded with my funds, which was unknown to me until that moment. He said he lost more than 80% that he would get in touch (Imagine that!) I ranted, yelled, cried, did all sort, and till now, he hasn't been able to raise my funds, this is not cooked story, it is what I faced and what I'm still facing currently.
What do you think I should do about this situation?
In this economy, was I wrong trusting him? I was plain with him, so plain, I have never been that plain with anyone before. I am just frustrated and tired of everything right now! I really don’t think I can trust anyone else again in my life. I feel so betrayed and disappointed.
This is how some people get themselves into trouble, later now they will say it is Village people, how can he do that to you, with your sleepless night and hard work, he must vomit that money, that is very bad of him, one thing I hate in my life is to spend another person's money because I do believe that what if they did not keep the money with me won't I find another alternative than spending their money. I know you are pained, please be calm

It is quite hard to trust anyone after all we are all humans, we make mistakes.
He would probably look for how to repay, Since he was a close friend and he didn’t squander the money but it was a loss.

It's quite unfortunate you had to go through this...shit happens, we learn and we move on.

STOPThat's too bad. Why would he trade with your money without telling you, using all the money is even worse because reading is a risk.
You only did it because you trusted him and maybe he needed some money too, which does not justify what he did to you.
Did he give you a date when he's going to return your money?
