Both Have A Part To Play In Learning

in Hive Learners14 days ago

On a daily basis we learn a thing or two. A child's first place of training is from the womb and when he finally arrives the planet earth the parents serves as his first teacher because on a daily basis they have contact with the child. We get to direct the child using the informed or informed training we received from our parents this is why I am of the opinion that a child is innocent because the brain comes as clean as a slate so it is what we write in them that they grow up with.

Exposing the children to the larger society is good in a way because they get trained when it comes to interpersonal relationship and also exposed to both the good and bad of the society. To this we don't have much control over it because children from different backgrounds comes together and they have exchange of knowledge. Some children are from good background but when they meet others they pick things which may not be in accordance with what your family standard are. I took my daughter to school before she became three years, as the day rolls by I discovered that my daughter was becoming more violent which was far from what we taught them at home. One of the days I went and related the matter to the teacher in school and she confessed that she don't normally talk in class but there is this boy that is always coming to beat her up so she promised to separate them and put more eyes on her.

Teaching and learning are both ways, the teachers have there part to play, the parents and children have their own part to play to. I know of a parent that took the son to school when he was almost four years. When they got to the school the head teacher told her that the son will start from pre-nursery. Personally I wasn't happy with the development, but I further asked her if she involved the boy in home teaching she said no, I told her she was at fault. Children begin learning from home and when the serene environment is not created it become difficult when the child meets with the larger community.

Also, when a child gets home what kind of place we give to them as parents will go a long way to affect their learning and retention. Some kids are not cared for properly so it becomes difficult for them to grow in knowledge. As parents we have every right to regulate the activities of the children if we want them to come out as the best. Some parents have little or no time for the kids, they leave the house in the morning and return after the kids are already asleep. Teachers can't do everything for the kids and to me they have no blame to share if the parents neglect their basic responsibility.

Bringing a balance to this, if the teacher makes use of the proper methodology in teaching the kids and the environment that is created is a proper one. I said a proper one because some schools don't encourage learning at all, so if everything is well positioned the teacher should not be blamed for the children's poor performance.

Another thing that should be taken into cognizant is the child's formation. Some children are fast learners while some needs lots of time to pick up. For instance, first and second term my daughter went to school she didn't perform so well because I will say the environment was so strange and she wasn't used to her teacher in school but the third term she top the class to my greatest surprised. During the speech and price giving day she was called severally to receive gift which made me so happy. Another factor is that she is moving with her mates which makes it easier for her to flow but comparing with my son, I noticed that he had lots of distractions in the school and those in his class are not in any way his mates. I do my best to encourage and monitor his progress which is so satisfactory.

The process of learning calls for partnership between the parents and the teachers so we all need to do our parts properly to make sure that the best is achieved when it comes to the children's learning and mental development.

Can't agree less with you, it's indeed a collective role when it has to do with academic performance cause some kids can be handful while the teacher is another subject case on its own.
