Pollution is the act of introducing things that are harmful into the environment. On a daily basis I lament over the growing rate of pollution in my environment, as it is now no one is willing to hear me out because everyone wants to do what is suitable to him personally without minding how other people will feel about it.There are different causes of pollution in my environment, which range from the activities of humans to the activities of the companies around. On a daily basis, humans carry out their activities, so they are good to them, and others tend to harm them because we are seeking our daily bread; we are not ready to stop.
Some of the activities of humans that cause pollution include indiscriminate disposal of waste in the streets and drainages. People go ahead to dump refuse in places that they are not meant to, and even when the government makes an effort to stop them, it becomes rather worse. Also, in my area, people cut down trees on a daily basis, which they use for firewood and charcoal. The law states that before you can cut a tree, you should plant more; this rule is not in any way followed by people.
The process of burning the wood to produce firewood causes more harm than good not only to the individuals who are directly involved but also to those who reside around the environment. There is also this pollution that is caused by the industries around. When you go to Port Harcourt, a city in my country, it is alleged that most of the inhabitants of that state fear cancer because of the heightened industrial activities. The waste that is produced from them is so toxic to the people, and I don't know what the government is doing to save the lives of the populace. There is also this pollution that has been caused by the agriculturists.
Particularly from the poultry farmers who are not even willing to manage their waste. One of the days my husband and I went for a program in a particular place close to one poultry; fortunately or unfortunately, I may say they were to dispose of their animal dung. The smell that was coming from that direction was so terrible that I felt like disappearing from there. By standard, a farm is not supposed to be sited close to the residence because the waste from there is not in any way good for the health of humans, but in my area the reverse is the case because I have seen those who even keep chicks in their rooms.
I get to wonder how they manage to cope with them. The money they are looking for may come at the moment, but the effect is one that, when it comes, they may not even remember what led to such an issue. Because most of the chemicals that have been used by these farmers are not healthy for the crops, there is a reduction in the quality of crops we have, and the soil is polluted, so even the crops go so far as to cause damage to the health of the people.
Imagine that food digests so fast in the stomach and more.At the moment, there are no visible measures I have seen by the individuals to overcome these challenges because everyone claims to be hustling for himself and his farming. The government in most cases is overwhelmed because people are not reading to abide by the law.One measure the government should take to reduce the rate of pollution is to embark on education in cities. If more people get to know more about the negative effects of pollution, many who are enlightened will seek ways to avoid it.
