Having favorite people is a normal thing, but acting stupid at the sight of them may be seen as total madness to me. There was a sweet but sad story I heard some time ago: Nigeria was playing a match against one country. You know how football fans behave. The play even more than the players on the field, so this particular fan was busy shouting at the top of his voice for his favorite club, which is Nigeria, with all expectation that Nigeria would win that match. At the end, we lost to that country; the fan angrily broke his television. When that story came to my hearing, I was like, That's madness. How will I break my television because of a match?
Mind you, those guys will be paid whether they win or lose the game, and I will be there incurring expenses for myself. The story above is somehow mild to also compare with the music fans; some of them go as far as removing their underwear just to throw it at their favorite. It breaks my heart to see girls say words like, I'm dying for this guy; if I can just have his seed in me, that's enough, and some of them go so far as to make sure they achieve what they have in mind.
Some celebrities also take the ride that they have fans and do crazy things. Now when it comes to all these music guys, they just sing whatever they wish to just to get some money and with the mind that they already have the crowd who can give them those accolades. Lording it over anyone because of a singular privilege that one got by chance or the grace that shined on one is a bad thing to do. Nothing should make anyone to act in an inhuman way, first thing we need to build is character which will help anyone in any sphere he finds himself, it serves as a mirror to what we do on a daily basis.
Some days back, a young man was lamenting that he went an extra mile just to get some referrals on a particular project. Now, the reason for that lament was because, in the end, what he wanted didn't work out, but he went an extra mile for that, even doing things he wouldn't do normally. From that story I just told, I told some of my followers that it is important to set boundaries on what to do and what not to do. Not just allowing situations to push us unnecessarily.
Situations are not meant to define the person we are; building a positive character over time is the best thing anyone can do for themselves. Also, when we get proper education on how to carry ourselves, it will go far; don't allow anyone or anything to get into your head to the point that you lose control of yourself. Imagine attending a concert where your favorite artist is presenting on stage. Some people will even go as far as borrowing money to make sure they attend such an occasion, and to me I say there is no single need for all those because that celeb won't be there to pay your bills.
Or even go as far as wanting to change your wardrobe to feature most of the celebrity's dress patterns. In all, we are all humans, and so we need to place high value on ourselves first and then make sure that what we do is not inhuman acts. Celebrate people, but don't do crazy things because of them, or don't even let them because people value you and disrespect you with your actions or words.
