Hello friends, this is another week for the hivelearners creative Sunday and it’s with great pleasure I’m sharing my entry for this week.
Today I made a song cover of Lost Boy by Ruth B. Lost boy is more like a story kind of song and you can easily relate to it if you’ve seen some cartoons because she sang that song using the names of some characters. I first heard this song early this year when a friend played it to me but for some reasons I didn’t like it as much as she said she did. It was weird because I hardly don’t like any song except I don’t understand the lyrics or the harmonies are a bit complicated.
After some months later, I realized another friend of mind likes this same song and that made me go search for the song again to listen to it. This time I enjoyed it better than the first time but I still had some reservations. It was not until some weeks back that a friend made a request for me to do a cover of the song. At this point, I knew I just have to love the song and it happened. I ended up loving it and now it is even on my favorite list.
I have learned how to sing this song for quite a while now and I’m glad I’m finally able to share it with us. I had plans of singing with the instrumental of the song but I had some challenges with the AirPods I wanted to make use of, so I ended up just singing it without any instrumental back ups. I’m not sure if it is the best but I do know that I enjoyed myself while recording this piece.
The song is quite an emotional one seeing that lost boy was indeed lost until Peterpan came to save him by taking him to Neverland. Lost boy was finally able to get a family and he was finally happy he had people to call his own. I could feel how happy he must have felt. Sometimes we are lost until that one person comes to our life and we start seeing things more clearly. While other times, we might be Peterpan who is willing to see others happy. Thanks to that one act by Peterpan, lost boy could finally believe in himself.
