Ah!!! 8 years and you still did not learn anything aside their greeting? I don't believe that, you can tell me you don't speak and hear but please don't just tell me is only their greetings you hear and speak.
I can imagine the trauma you had to go through for those eight years, it's not funny at all oo because I have been around yoruba people before, their language is so so important to them, even when they leave their state self, you will always see them putting in one yoruba at some point of their conversation.
Learning yoruba is not a bad idea at all, it's a really good one and it's a good thing the boys are taught yoruba in school, they won't suffer like you did, sorry ehn 😪.
