The Reality of Public Hospitals: Are We Just a Number?

I think most of us are careless about our own self like we don't take sickness or fever as seriously as we take when someone we know or loved ones get sick

We want them to be healthy as soon as possible, will go with them and see doctor but when you're not healthy or got sick - you won't put as much as effort as you do for others.

Maybe because a part of you want the same treatment as you give to other or you don't want to look weak Infront of anyone.

Well, it's quite same in my case like I rarely go for medical or health checkup, only in the worst case scenario but I'm also mostly sick, have health issues that I don't take seriously at all.

The Last Time I Went for a Health Checkup

It's been a long time last I went for a check-up and it was because of this one repeated condition of mine where I get mouth blisters

And it just makes it impossible to eat anything when you've those blisters

Everytime I went for a health checkup it was because of this same condition and guess what I always got?

The same medicine or Gel to try on over and over again like I told them it didn't worked, I applied medicines but blisters always comeback every once in a while and stay for about 10 days or more

No matter how much medicine you apply, it'll end when they want to.

About a couple of weeks ago

My mom insisted me to go see doctor and tell them everything about this condition so I decided to go to a different hospital here in Islamabad.

The moment It was my turn and told doctor my condition

And doctor typically started writing the same medicine, I got pissed but still politely said I've tried these meds before

So his response was wait lemme write different formula like it's gonna work, he still prescribed that Gel to use and I was like nah man give this to someone else

I'm tired of trying all these over and over again yet you're taking this condition like it's something normal.

So I have given up already

One of the reason I hate going to hospital for health related concerns is the undisciplined, messed up way of treating patients

Like nothing is organised, they don't even listen to patients carefully and just want to get over it

Move to next one in the row so I'm just delaying instead of going to private hospital Which is just going to milk me as they do with everyone

So nowadays I have this relative who's doctor, everytime I feel sick or for this blister issues I just call him and ask for medicines.

It is working quite well like usually I used to get blisters every 2-3 weeks later but now it's happening after a long time and that relative doctor is just telling me what to do now and later

Wrapping Up...

Like everyone else I don't want to end up at hospital or ever visit there but uncertain health doesn't help me much.

I kind of avoid telling anyone if I'm having health prob anymore cause i prefer keeping it to myself. It's all good like I know I'm the one who can improve and work on my health, so I'm focusing more on that part than going to hospital again.

In the end I believe everyone needs to take care of themselves and their health, better eat that apple to keep the doctor away.

The public hospitals in my area are no good. I don't visit the hospital often, but I know so.

Meanwhile, is there no test that they could conduct to ascertain why the blisters keep reoccurring? Why not just visit a laboratory?

I'm sorry about what you're going through. And u hope that you find a permanent solution soonest.

I have seen this around me as well. In the government-funded public hospitals, the doctors and nurses are often feeling entitled and not tending to the patience. The way they should be. They become arrogant and careless towards their sacred duties and the patients do not receive the care that is needed. Whereas the private hospitals are actually doing a better job even though they have their own problems as well.
