Technology has developed a lot in the last few decades, and social networking has become easy for us. Now we have many social applications like WeChat, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp Messenger, Discord, and so many others. All of those allow us to communicate with others via text and voice calls, whatever we like.
Some people prefer to do text messaging rather than voice calls, and some people love to do voice calls rather than text messages. Both types of people have their opinions, and they have the logic behind it and I think everyone is right from their own position because the taste of everyone can be different and it's very natural. I'm here to share my choice and the logic behind it.
I'm not a talkative person, and I always try to talk less; it doesn't matter where I am. So I don't love to talk to anyone via voice call. From my side, I call my friends also rarely. I talk with them when they try to reach me. I think they are already used to with it and didn't know it quite well that I never call them unless it's necessary. In the beginning, they complained about it to me, but now they have become used to it, and I'm lucky to have some friends who really understand me.
Let's talk about text messaging. Honestly, writing text messages is the most irritating thing for me. And it irritates me more than making voice calls. So naturally I text to others in rare cases, and I do it when I'm sure that my single message is enough to provide all the information, and it should not be lengthy. So, from my side, I don't like text messaging or voice calls, but if I need to choose between the two, it depends on many things. I can choose anyone of them.
My typing speed is very slow, and in the maximum time, I touch my keyboard for hive posts and for replying to others. Except Hive, if any known person messages me for some reason, I call them directly for the matter immediately. I do it because I want to save my time. Rather than reading the messages of them for a long time, I can hear the main thing via voice calls within a few minutes. I think it's time-effective and can save a lot of time. And I am always serious when it comes to time.
I don't want to talk with strangers, but sometimes I need to talk to strangers, and there is no chance of talking with them via voice calls because I feel uncomfortable talking to strangers, especially on smartphone. I think for an unknown person, text messaging is a good option for me, and I don't think I need to reply immediately to a stranger. I can reply to them in my free time if I feel it's necessary.
Sometimes I face a busy day and I have no energy left to talk with others. I directly deny the access of calls because I think in such kind time I only want to focus on those tasks that are necessary. If someone calls me, I feel very annoyed, and some people mind if I don't receive calls also. So denying the call feature is effective at that time, and if someone messages me, then I can reply to them at my desired time.
But if someone sends voice notes, it's the thing I hate most. I feel it's unnecessary in the maximum time. Someone who doesn't want to make an effort to write a message does the thing. It can save their time but not mine. I ignore voice notes directly because if it's a necessary voice, then, that person will call for sure. And I think in every place it's not ok to hear voice messages also. I don't like voice calls or text messaging, but I hate someone sending me voice notes.

I also do not like to talk. Seeing someone calling or sending a voice note is scary for me! But I text a lot to those with whom I feel comfort.
Everyone has different choices and it's quite normal to hear that you love to text.
