How are you all? I hope you're all doing well. I come from a country where the tax situation is really bad.
The rich keep getting richer, while the poor are sinking deeper into poverty.
We pay tax on every little thing we use — even if we buy something as small as a needle, it's taxed by the government. I'm talking from the consumer's perspective.
As far as I know, taxes are usually meant for large businesses, and while the general public also pays their share, it’s not supposed to be as excessive as what we’re currently paying. Let me give you a small example — the price of petrol. In the international market, petrol prices have dropped significantly. Based on that, we should be getting petrol for around 70–80 PKR per liter. But do you know how much we're paying? 255 PKR per liter. Our government is collecting around 160–170 PKR per liter as tax, a burden that is directly taken out of the common man’s pocket.
This is merely one example; the reality is that the same applies to almost all other essentials. What’s more troubling is that our voices are silenced whenever we protest or try to raise our concerns.
You might assume that with all the heavy taxation, the government would at least provide us with proper facilities. But sadly, that’s not true. We struggle to access even the most necessary. On the other hand, our military receives about 70% of the national budget and enjoys full access to all kinds of facilities.
Our government should be taxing the big businessmen — the ones who own massive factories and industries. But instead, the burden keeps falling on the common people, who receive no benefits in return. Meanwhile, those wealthy businessmen use their connections and money to avoid paying taxes.
By now, you can probably understand from my post just how helpless we are. We can’t do anything against this oppressive government. They keep grinding us down like wheat, and sadly, we’ve become used to living this kind of life.

You are very correct, I feel the tax system is unfair to people with smaller businesses,
Also individual taxes should be something that won't be too much, something people can afford
