On another platform where I came from, I've been reading posts of newbies on Hive about their complaints about how complicated the Hive system is and there are a lot of things to learn. I must admit that I've been in their shoes, but through constant learning, I somehow managed to learn more things about the Hive system.
To help them understand the system here, I created Hive Basics for Beginners.
I never thought that this simple post will encourage more Filipinos to join this platform and our community, Hive PH. After posting my article on another platform, I was surprised to see them joining Hive PH discord and became interested in Hive. And that's when I realized that, it only needs some guidance to successfully convince them to join Hive.
Some are already here, but they still find it hard to understand the system. Some created their accounts but were still hesitant to start their journey. Some planned to join but were hesitant to create their account for some reason. And I'm glad that some of them have decided to step on this platform. You guys are on the right track.
My post also contained an invitation to join the Hive PH webinar for newbies and a voice chat for deeper topics about the Hive system. And that's when they became interested to join as they want to learn more about Hive.
And just yesterday, the Hive PH successfully held a webinar with the help of the admins and mods.

Part 2 talks about deeper topics about Hive and I didn't expect the newbies from another platform to join as well as they were interested to learn more. Gladly, I was able to join despite the busyness.
This is all thanks to the Filipino community and awesome people who made this event successful. @indayclara @tpkidkai @adamada @wittyzell and others. And Thanks to @tpkidkai for helping some to create an account here.
And today, I purposely created this post for the newbies to help them learn more about this platform.
The Hive blockchain is too huge and there is still a lot more to learn about it, just like this Cryptoverse. Constant learning is necessary if you really want to know everything about it. Just like what you did when you first stepped on readcash and other blogging platforms.
Other Ways To Earn Tokens On Hive
Here are the common ways to earn Hive tokens on a Hive blogging platform.
Posting and Commenting - your posts will earn rewards depending on the number of upvotes you receive from the readers and curators. (And you are lucky if a whale or known curators spotted your post and like it). Commenting also allows you to earn some tokens. Writers usually upvoted the comments as well. And a small number of upvotes from comments would grow over time.
Voting and Curating - you earn in curating when you upvoted a post before it gets popular and receives more upvotes.
Vesting or Staking - your Hive rewards can be powered up to earn some new tokens while holding them. The more HP you hold, the higher the rewards. Other tokens on Hive Chain can be staked too to earn more rewards from them.
Delegating - is "lending" out your HIVE Power to other users or communities and you might receive a daily interest from them depending on the amount you delegated to them. This is usually done to favorite communities or curators.
Other ways to earn tokens on Hive:
There are other ways to earn different tokens on Hive too.
- Earn Tokens Through Bots
One of them is by using different bots or typing the commands in the comment section. In this way, both you and the writer will receive the token. To be eligible for this, you must hold a certain amount of the certain token you want to give out.

For instance, I have LUV tokens in my wallet. I can give LUV tokens to others and I will earn from doing so.
- Just type !(token name)
e.i. LUV in the comment section of the article you want to tip using the token and both of you will receive LUV tokens.
For example:
I commented LUV in @indayclara's recent post. She then received a portion of LUV tokens.
Another example is the LADY token from @ifarmgirl. Both of us received LADY tokens.
But to give out LADY to others, you have to hold a certain amount of LADY tokens. I guess that is 25 LADY tokens if I'm not mistaken. Correct me if I'm the wrong Farmgirl. (Btw, she's one of the moderators in the Ladies of Hive community 😊)
Here are the Hive Engine Tokens I received from different users.
I used the We Are Alive wallet to check my tokens. You can also check your tokens on your Ecency wallet. Just click wallet then go to Tokens.
You can also download the Hive Keychain app to manage your Hive wallet and tokens. You can also use this app to withdraw your Hive to another wallet or crypto exchange platform, like Binance, that accepts Hive tokens.

- Earn POSH and HIVE tokens through Tweeting Posts
Users on Hive can earn Hive tokens through tweeting posts of others. To be eligible, both you and the owner of the post should be registered on Hiveposh.com by linking your Hive and Twitter accounts.

Tweet someone's post on Twitter and write relevant captions and tags. (See the sample tweets in the photo above)
Wait for @poshtoken's comment on the post you shared, just like shown below. (You will be notified by it)
- Copy the link of Poshtoken's comment and look for @OCD recent post about POSH Curation Compilation as shown in the photo below.
- Paste the link in the comment section.
Some considerations:
You can only tweet one post a day.
Your tweet should contain captions and tags relevant to the post you shared (don't forget #hive).
The post you want to share should not be older than 6 hours.
If your post is eligible, you will get the reward after 7 days.

You will also earn POSH tokens and the reward is based on the number of likes and retweets of your Twitter post.
- Earn Hive Engine Tokens By Participating In Writing Challenges
As I mentioned above, there are different tokens on Hive that you must know. Some of them can be accumulated by participating in different writing challenges.
For instance,
The Ladies of Hive community gives LADY tokens to writing challenge participants aside from the Hive upvote you can get from curators. The contest is held weekly and posted every Monday that runs until Saturday. You can follow the admins, @thekittygirl, and @silversaver888 to know the latest contest and updates.
The Proof of Brain community rewards the winners of the contest with POB tokens. @friendlymoose usually held photo contests, so you can follow him.
By posting articles on the We Are Alive front-end, you will earn ALIVE tokens. By staking ALIVE tokens, you will earn PGM, LOLZ, and BRO. You can check this post and you might get some ALIVE, click here You can follow @flaxz to know the latest update about We Are Alive.
One of my favorites is Dreemport. As I mentioned in Hive Basics For Beginners, Dreemport connects writers from different platforms. It also allows us to promote our content. By participating in the curation challenge, you will earn DREEM tokens and HIVE tokens if the curators upvoted your post. You can check my article below to know more about it.
Building A Better Name With Dreemport
Some are also using token names as tags in their articles and they will receive those certain tokens. This is something I want to learn. (In case someone knows about it, kindly comment below. Thanks)
And by the way, by using Ecency front-end in posting, commenting, and doing other transactions, you will earn Ecency Points which you can use to boost or promote yours and other content, as well as to tip articles.
