A peak of technology in 2050

in Hive Learners2 months ago
Science and technology innovations aim to ease the crude methods used, improving on what already existed and also bringing about the 'new' to the human populace. Nigeria, for one, has been exposed to technological advancement within the past three decades, which notably exploded the industry through the availability of smart and mobile telephone devices. Researchers and innovators continue to work tirelessly in a bid to break new and uncommon ground, which attracts adopters at different stages based on perceptions of affordability, durability, ease of use, etc.

Nigeria being among the developing countries in Africa seems, however, to get advanced technology later than other countries of the world, perhaps for other reasons. The future, however, looks bright, as the rate of technological advancement seems to be in geometric progression.

TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT BY 2050

Artificial intelligence remains an eye opener to numerous advancements yet to unfold, in addition to the existing ones. We have had the likes of 'Siri' and 'Ella' who are digital companions and even robots that have been programmed to execute tasks as directed. The man may be used to a certain way of life where he may not be aware of better alternatives or easier means to have those tasks done.

HEALTH AND TELEMEDICINE

The health sector has enjoyed technological advancement in equipment aiding diagnosis and therapy. Biotechnology remains an underexplored section, which I believe would receive more attention due to the increase of illnesses and disease conditions ravaging the globe, with a focus on the younger generation. Medicine has begun to experience breakthroughs in some difficult surgeries, such as heart, brain, and even twin separation surgeries. Beyond human involvement, robotic medicine seems to gradually crawl into the medical space, and I envisage a rapid dependence on robotic medicine, which may exhibit greater accuracy and precision. The reliance on such technological advancement would bring ease to the minds of patients and even the globe at large.

TRANSPORTATION AND TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT

Nigeria for one has begun to have electric cars in circulation employing the technology of compressed natural gas (CNG), replacing the premium motor spirit (PMS) vehicles, which, beyond impoverishing the populace as a result of the cost of fuel, further puts the climate in grave danger from emissions that threaten the stability of the greenhouse gases and ultimately bring about global warming.

HOPE AND FEAR FOR TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT

I envisage a mix of emotions by 2050, as technological advancement will bring a ray of hope to the globe through solutions to long-standing problems while bringing ease and standardized methods to address global challenges. Yet, the fear of job redundancy threatens the minds of the people even now, calling for a need to have skills that would stand the test of time and technology. Parents are already scared of the impacts the internet is having on children, as many are exposed to the negative effects of digital technology like pornography and overdependence on artificial intelligence for academic purposes.

In the next few years we will see robots working everywhere and this technology is going to be the most popular in the way that electric vehicles have become popular nowadays.

Bad things are not difficult to be learnt at all. As it is now many children have gone so far as they can get to places in the gadget

The future indeed looks bright, i admire what it has in store. I can't wait to see Nigeria transform to a better place.. it's already happening low-key though.

For the downside, well, we can't prevent the disadvantages, however, I believe we would always find a means to survive and keep our services valid.

You are right, we must enjoy both blessings and the curse of technology.
