Exercise or dietary modification to keep the body shape fit: sides of a coin

I met a lady some time ago and the last time I saw her which was two years ago, she was relatively obese. nonetheless, she had a good enough body shape and her carriage was admirable. However, since then till very recently, I have seen her videos and pictures on her WhatsApp status and I had no choice but to appreciate her for working on her weight. At least she never posted dietary adjustments but clearly, she enrolled in a gym and had her as it is now, perhaps just as she wanted it.

Dietary modification remains a viable means and alternative to loss of weight but, not necessarily staying in shape. Let me make some brief clarifications here. Losing weight is a conscious effort toward weight reduction but does not necessarily result in fat redistribution in the body or the desire to stay fit. Weight reduction is a catabolic process or as may be better understood by the common man, the breakdown of stored energy which has been stored in different parts of the human body. As a reminder, some disease conditions can bring about weight loss which may not translate to keeping the body in a desirable shape. Conditions such as chronic illnesses or immunocompromising health conditions, mental stress, sicknesses, starvation, prolonged fasting, etc., can bring about weight reduction.

Dietary modifications usually involve rearranging one’s meals in the table of class by reducing or increasing some or at sometimes, doing away with some classes of food. The carbohydrate class in the balanced table meal is the major culprit targeted when it comes to weight reduction and usually, it is reduced while the class of fruits and vegetables is encouraged. Thus, it is common to see those targeting weight loss through dietary modifications feed more on a variety of fruits while taking only in small or no quantities of the carbohydrate class of food. They often lose weight but may not be in the shape they desire.

A common finding in weight loss is stretch marks. Well, there is little anyone can do about them.

Weight loss through exercise often keeps the individual in the desired shape as he can engage in specific exercise activities that would help him burn the excess stored fat as well as redistribute the available body fats. So, if the target is to keep in shape, I’ll conveniently recommend engaging in exercises that can be better guided by the gym instructors. Some dietary modifications could help and this is where I come to the topic of a healthy hyhyeatyle Many disease conditions known to be common with our parents and grandparents are fast encroaching on the youths of our generation the major culprit is in our dietary lifestyle in addition to environmental factors. The reduction or stoppage of unhealthy and indiscriminate consumption of harmful intakes like alcohol and cigarette smoking has ravaged society. Perhaps these victims may even lose weight more than usual as a result of their predisposition to some relatable disease conditions.

Right before I drop my ink, the consumption of junk has beyond taking us out of shape equally predisposed us to many ailments that are often preventable or rate-limiting. Thus, beyond a footnote, it is good practice to exercise regularly (not just for weight loss but because it helps the heart and body muscles to stay active) and equally watch everything we consume (including water).
