You are right about this. But then on my own path I think the child has the most fault. For instance, we had a teacher who was teaching us two courses last semester and when it was time for exam. It was the two courses that we had the lowest mark. Now,if you take a look at it. Yes, the man doesn't really know how to explain properly in class but then he even gave us slides to practice on which was where his exams came out from. At the end of the day,some people in class passed both of the exams successfully. There is always a limit to what a parent and even a teacher can do. Most times, the issue lies more with the child and our educational system.
