Testimonies about Hive is going far and wide and it's always interesting to see people talk about how Hive is becoming a big part of their day-to-day life. Hive is so many things to so many people... It's like a one-stop-arena for Content Creators to enjoy the Value for Value framework we have on here.
The Hiving experience is getting so much better with each passing day and we are seeing a lot of upgrades. I can still recall when I first joined Hive. The upgrade we've already seen between then and now is mind-blowing. Take the transaction speed for an example. Transactions now go so much faster than before.
Also, let's not forget that the ability to delegate RC is one of the upgrades that we've been enjoying for almost a year. Now, it won't cost too much for anyone on Hive to support a newbie with some RCs so the newbie would have the ability to perform on-chain activities.
I'm genuinely excited about the upgrades and all the new features we are getting on Hive and, since we have an interesting topic to work on in Hive Learners Community, I would like to use this as an opportunity to suggest an additional feature that will help take her to higher levels.
Here is the feature;
Every frontend need to adopt the lite Sign-up option that's currently running INLEO.
Hive has already reached the point where we need to have eyes on the promotion of the Blockchain to the outside world. We have a very powerful peach to work with and we are already in the era of SocialFI, so it won't be a surprise to see folks running into Hive to create an account.
For a very long time, account opening has been a dicey adventure and I know this because I onboard a lot of people to Hive Blockchain. For some people, the process can be very smooth but for others, it gets unnecessarily complex and buggy. Thankfully, I recently found out about the lite Sign-up option that INLEO frontend offers.
This enables folks to use their Twitter account to create a Hive account. Trust me, I've tried this for a bunch of people and it works within the twinkle of an eye. This easy sign-up option is a game changer and no normie has to worry about keys and safeguarding those keys until they settle in and get to understand snippets of what's happening on the Blockchain.
I remember being in one INLEO AMA and the Leo team appears to be willing to integrate this account creation option into other frontends. Now, imagine what this will do for Hive onboarding. I'm sure it will make it so much easier to get someone signed up.
Other upgrades that would be nice for Hive are;
1. Video Upload should be attached to all frontends: 3Speak is doing a really good job. There is no doubt about that. However, I still think everyone should be able to upload any video of their choice via every other front end of their choice.
I know Ecency tried to fit in that feature a few months ago, and that's a very good move. More frontends also need to add that to their UI.
2. The 7-day monetization period for content published on Hive is too small: This almost makes it look like a post that's more than 7 days old has outlived its worth, but that shouldn't be the case especially when we all boast about how anything published on the Blockchain remains on it forever.
In that case, I think any post that's on the Blockchain should be monetizable till perpetuity. It would be nice to be able to visit an introductory post that someone published 2 years ago and be able to reward the post with an Upvote.
3. We need a Live Stream feature on Hive: We can start by having something similar to the spaces that are held on X or the hangouts features that happen on Discord. Imagine being able to host a similar event on each community page on the Blockchain and have the community members show up to interact via voice or video channels.
Social audio is no joke and I believe that a feature that enables those functions will be an interesting thing to have on the Blockchain.
Hive is already ahead in the SocialFi race and I'm very sure that a Hive with all these in place will surely give creators and builders a paradisiacal experience.

When I saw the prompt, was thinking of what to write, but them decided to pause and see what others have to say.
I haven't checked that INLEO onboarding stuff, but from how you talk about it, I can tell that it is great. And if it will make in boarding easier, it would be good if other frontend do the same.
I have thought the same about the monetization thing before. We should be able to upvote any posts even if it has been published for over two years. This gives the post published value in a way, the authors will be happy that they are still able to earn from post they've published a long time ago.
But I think the payout method if fine. What do you think you about the payout method?

Oh, yeah. The INLEO onboarding option is very important and it makes it very easier for folks to create an account.
I've had onboarding issues at several points and there have been moments when it was just frustrating to create an account because of the ticketing issues that usually pops up on Hiveonboard. This new account creation method is a game-changer.
As for the 7 days monetization window, I think about it on several occasions and I think we can do better by extending it or just allowing monetization to flow forever, as far as a post is on the blockchain.

Wow, I didn't know people could come up with these wonderful ideas. When I saw this prompt, the first thing that came to my mind was the 7 days payout and thereafter you cannot earn from the post. This is one thing that makes me still like Youtube and feel like wanting to grow a presence there.
I like your 3 idea. Being able to make spaces on Hive itself would be wonderful.

Exactly. The 7 days monetization window is too small. At the moment, some people don't even vote posts that are more than a day old and that's not exactly a good monetization framework. Meanwhile, places like YouTube have a monetization framework that runs forever, as far as the video is not taken down from the platform.
As for INLEO's lite account, once a newbie gets upto $10 worth of crypto (with 2nd layer tokens inclusive) in their wallet, the Newbie will start getting notifications that will urge them to claim their keys and be in charge of their wallet. Even without earning upto that, anyone that has a lite account can still claim their keys whenever they want.
I haven't explored the keys claiming option though, but that's the exact information we have from the INLEO team.

This is correct. I also support that 7 days monetisation is quite small. Because it is old doesn’t mean that it is not worth an upvote.

Yeah. 7 days monetization for content isn't ideal for a Blockchain. Extending it or allowing contents to be monetizable forever will be a really good idea.

There are lot of things to be included. I really go to let’s the the lite signup opinion. I was finding it hard to create an account using other front end few days ago. And this was because of the limited account that could be created on each dapp was reached. Inleo was an exception because of the life sign up option.
Exactly. The lite Sign-up option is a very easy alternative and it doesn't necessarily need any sort of guidance from the onboarder. Once you send the sign-up URL to someone, the person can easily use that to join and be part of this Hiving adventure.

These are very valid points mostly with the video upload. I could recall a time when 3speak was having issues with uploading videos, I said it then that I wished I could upload from other frontend.
I also love the point raised on the 7-day monetization for posts. Sometimes when I stumbled upon a person's post, the content would be so inspiring and I don't like that all I could do is to comment if the post is more than 7 days. If that is been addressed I think it would be a good thing.

Yeah. 3Speak are really doing well, but things can get really frustrating whenever their frontend gets a bug attack. It usually affects the video upload section and that's a hard thing to work around. Haha.
As for the monetization window, that's something that really need to be worked on. If it becomes open forever, someone would easily get vote on a post they made on their first day on Hive. That will surely be awesome. It will also attract more content creators to the Blockchain.

Regarding the monetization period, this is good and bad, because if you analyze it in a big drop, you have the advantage of receiving it earlier, but in a big rise, you miss out on earning more, I think maybe there could be a bonus or bonus for those who For example, you decided to leave it for 14 days.
Yeah. I see the point you made and it's the truth. We don't really know when there will be a big drop or a big rise. That uncertainty will always affect the unit of payout we will get from our content.
