One of the issues I have with humanity today is the way they idolize people. I see this as a vices that has eaten deep into humanity so much so that this action has led to the demise of many of these celebs. When people become popular, especially because of something they are good at, people start to see them as role models looking into their success story and try to envision what it would mean to be in their shoes. This makes some people worship the very ground they walk on and if given the chance, would do anything to have a second of their time. I find this kind of attitude absurd and feel no one deserves such a level of honor except they are a deity of some sort. We are all humans and although not of equal strengths, we are all unique in our way. And for the fact the world recognizes the talent of a few doesn't mean the rest who are not recognized are useless.

Let's tell ourselves the truth, fame is not success, and because someone achieves fame doesn't mean they are more successful than you. I find it odd that some people attribute success to fame and would do anything to become famous. I find it odd that when some people achieve a level of fame they look down at others feeling they are not on their level and treat people less because of that. When I see people do that I look at them in disguise because it won't be long before they know the harm they are doing to themselves. People say it's lonely at the top, and the truth is I believe them. I personally don't wish to be famous because of all the attention it brings. When you are up there, you are forced to act for the most part of life and try to project a personality and a brand. At the end of the day, you forget yourself and the reason you strived to be famous in the first place.
I attend a church where there are lots of celebrities, and I see how both the celebrities carry themselves and how people look at them. Truth is I can not fault the celebrities for carrying themselves the way they do, I would fault the society for giving them the impression that they are something they are not. Society fronts this so aggressively that at times one has no choice but to accept who they are not especially when they keep quiet about it. This happens with spiritual leaders, musicians, footballers, actors, and a lot of celebrities we know today. For example I see how people fall when some pastors minister, and this makes the pastors think they have power, then I remember that during the time of a worldly musician “Michael Jackson” People would fall and some would even faint, with records of people being healed when listening to his songs

Know that I'm not trying to downplay the power of God, for religious minds, and I'm not trying to call the pastor fake also, what I'm pointing at is the fact that there is nothing new under the sun, and people should stop feeling like they are demigods because they can achieve a height others around them hasn't achieved. I know there are those that would argue that it is a reward of their hard work and if it was so easy, why can't others achieve it. Well, I would say they are very correct, when you have pushed yourself to a point others haven't, you deserve to be respected. But have you realized that with respect comes stagnation. As it becomes hard to grow when you let their respect get to you. Can you imagine how much a lot of celebrities would have grown if they weren't celebs… the fact that they became celebrities made them feel like they have achieved something, making them slow down because of the pride that comes from those who idolize them. This means that their fans are the ones limiting the progress they would have made if they had just stayed humbled.

Those fans are the root of some celebrities problem. The mentality they have about them through what they do makes it feel like there are certain things they must have achieved in life. I pity those that worship them, sometimes it's just audio money. Some celeb are struggling with life challenges and they can't voice out
Exactly and that's why there is need for maturity from both sides in handling and managing fame/popularity so as not to serve as a limiting factor. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Truly, fame and popularity is not success and it doesn't make them better than others. I have seen how celebrities behave or talk on some issues affecting society and it's obvious that they are just popular because of their talents nothing else.
There's no need to idolise people but then, Many other people would think otherwise.
