So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun we did not want it to end. We are currently on the third topic for this week which is “WHEN SHOULD I TIP?”.

But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic which was “NOT NEEDED”.

This topic was geared toward each member of the community telling us about their thoughts on the courses that are no longer relevant in the world of today, but people still go ahead to study them. From the obvious courses to even the most mundane ones, there are courses that people shouldn’t study if they want to have hope of ever getting a job.

However, we got to see the different reasons people would choose to go for one course of study or the other, regardless of their relevance in the labor market. After all, no knowledge gained is a waste. Eventually, it would always come in handy. It was an enlightening topic indeed.

For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w139e2 tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. And so, the posts that will be featured not just for their exceptional content, but also for their level of engagement with other authors will be listed below.

Featured Contents

OBSOLETE CAREERS AND THE FUTURE OF WORK by @xlety

This author told us about how the advancement of technology has made specialization in a specific field difficult for the people of today. So many jobs have been lost due to the rapidly advancing tech, and so it will continue to be. So, it will be best if such individuals invest in courses that will be more in conversant with the times.

OUTDATED DEGREES IN A DIGITAL ERA by @nkemakonam89

For this author, she gave examples of courses that no longer home much value in the world of today. Courses like Secretarial studies and Agricultural Economist, these are activities that simple softwares can perform with little to no cost. Hence investing time and money to study them could prove to be detrimental in the long run.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND THE FUTURE OF PROFFESSIONS @shiftrox

For this author, he believes that his profession which is Software Programming is also at risk of being taken over by artificial intelligence. Although only to an extent. The only way to avoid that is to start today to prepare contingencies for that period. That way, they won;t be tied down to one job that won’t be much help to them.

All of the above contents were supported by our official curation account lazy-panda with an extra amount. These posts were selected because of their special attention to detail and how they followed the topic. There were a lot of good ones out there, but we just could not pick them all.

But then, we have some honorable mentions which are listed below:

Honorable Mention
