So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun we did not want it to end. We are currently on the third topic for this week which is “TIME TRAVEL”.

But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic which was “LYRICS ON THE GO”.

This topic was geared toward each member of the community telling us about the music industry and the kind of music that have become mainstream. Lyrics of these days are not what they used to be and they promote many vices and immoral acts.

We got to see just how such music is affecting the generation of today. The kind of music we listen to affects us in more ways than we care to admit and if nothing is done, our artists will keep releasing songs that have no substance because their only motivation would be to make money.

For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w141e2 tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. And so, the posts that will be featured not just for their exceptional content, but also for their level of engagement with other authors will be listed below.

This author told us about how the main focus in music of these days is placed on fast beats and songs where one can’t really understand whatthe artist is saying in their songs. In her opinion, it’s hard to find songs that actually uplift the soul and it’s one thing about the music industry that really needs to be changed.

For this author, artists of the previous generation used to put in more effort when making songs. Their lyrics held a lot of meaning and they made sure that when people listened, they learned a thing or two. Sadly, this is something that no longer exists in the industry today. Everything is now all about money and not about passing a message.

COMMERCIALISM VS ARTISTIC INTEGRITY IN MUSIC @manclar

For this author, he pointed out how artists are only concerned with churning out songs that will be commercially successful. They don’t care about anything else but the money that will be made from the song. It will be necessary to return to the days when artists took time to actiually write their songs. So such a tradition won’t fade from existence.
