So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun we did not want it to end. We are currently on the first topic for this week which is “A PARENT ABSENT”.

But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic which was “THE CONCEPT OF FREE WILL”.

This topic was geared toward each member of the community sharing their thoughts with us on the concept of free will. In a world governed by rules and the threat of prison sentences looming over defaulters, can it really be said that we’re free?

We got to see the different ways members answered this question, and what it meant to them. In the end, freedom is what we make of it. The decisions we make and our reactions to situations of life determine if we’re indeed free entities. It was an enlightening topic, indeed.

For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w152e3 tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. This author told us about how slavery in the past set a bad precedent for humanity and since then, the world is still struggling to survive it. Every human being is free and has rights, nothing can ever change that fact. So, anything rule or policy that will take away the rights and freedom of anybody, regardless of their race pr gender, will definitely be trampling on their freedom.

For this author, she says that while we’re all free, no one is absolutely free. For order and peace to reign, then there must be some restrictions to the amount of freedom everyone can get. Any freedom that will make the lives of other citizens uncomfortable or put them in danger, is not the right kind of freedom.

For this author, he shared with us that when people were given excess freedom, they were bound to go too far and cause chaos. That is why absolute freedom will be the breatdown of law and order. Rules are necessary to keep everyone in check so lives and property will be better protected!

“What do you think are the effects of having a particular parent absent from one's upbringing? It could be any parent at all. Do you think that the child's future will be different if both parents have a say in the raising of the child? Or is it simply a case of upbringing, regardless of how many parents are in the child's life.”
