Mostly people failed to understand us and they make a wrong impression about us and about our personality, this is stigma too and I suffer from this, i can relate how painfull it is. And it has many bad effects on iur life too but there's solution of every problem too.

I'm an introvert and they take it in wrong way!!!
Those who knows me also know that I'm an introvert and I'm less talkative person, i don't love to speak a lot, i only speak when there's a need of saying something otherwise I stay silent. There's a famous thing about readers that they are less talkative and yes I'm a reader too and prefer to stay silent.
How this goes wrong???
I'm a married woman now, and I married in out of family, in those people who are stranger for me, they don't know me and I also don't know them. I came to this home and leave that as all girls do after marriage and obviously it's difficult to adjust in a new environment after marriage.
When I was newbie here, they expect from me to talk a lot and spend all my time with them but I'm totally opposite from their expectations as my personality can't allowed me to do this. I stayed silent and when they asked me about something I give them answer. And I prefer to stay in my room too.
Effects of this stigma!!!!
As we all know that stigma is that they make wrong label about you and think in negative way and similar happened to me as well. They made wrong impression about my personality or about me. They think I'm rude and moody girl who don't want to frank with them who don't want to stay with them. When I knew that they made false judgment about me then I can't do anything but still there's something who help me to get rid of it.
How I handled this situation???
Obviously it was a worst situation because after marriage our in-laws are also our family and we've to stay with them just like a family but it's not good that they made false judgment about you. The good thing is that my husband start to understand me , i don't know how he started to understand me but he was there to protect me and help me to remove this wrong label from me.
Now, time passed and it's been years and they understand that I'm not rude or moody girl although it's my habit to stay silent and alone. Time heals me as I leave this decision on time.
You can't imagine I'm the person who doesn't even add people on Facebook although I listen if someone is introvert in real life then they've friend on virtual life but I'm same in both.

It might be a nature of a human which usually judge first rather than to try to understand the person better by getting close and try to know the other better.
I don't as well, I even have a lot of friend request that I don't approve, too much drama sometimes. !LOLZ

Maybe they are wrong in judging you, especially if you are an introvert who doesn't like to talk, prefers to be quiet and only talks about what is necessary, maybe there is no humor in you, it is natural that this stigma will appear in society.
Yes this is also a kind of stigma but I'm happy that time helps me to heal π
