Sunday Jolly: Spag and Veggie Stew

in Hive Learners5 months ago (edited)

Hello my beauties, wonderful Sunday to you all. Creative Sunday, here I come! Yeah, I have been procrastinating about participating in this initiative, but one way or another, I always end up either forgetting to take pictures at the start of my cooking or getting distracted. However, I finally succeeded in doing it this Sunday! I almost forgot, but remembered just in time.

For this Sunday, I decided to go with a simple dish. Spaghetti is a quick meal that can be finished in minutes without much stress.

Personally, Sundays come with this excitement, and bringing in the idea of doing something creative is just wow. Today, I decided to try white spaghetti with veggie stew. How I was able to achieve this is detailed below:

Ingredients
For the White Spaghetti:

  • 1 pack of spaghetti
  • Salt
  • Vegetable oil

    Raw and the parboiled Spaghetti

For the Veggie Stew:

  • Vegetable oil
  • Liver

  • Combination of blended tomatoes and
  • Blended pepper

  • combination of chopped onions

  • Sliced carrots

  • Sliced green peas

  • Salt, curry, and Onga stew seasoning to taste

Procedure

I started by parboiling my spaghetti. To avoid the spaghetti sticking to the pot, I added a small drop of vegetable oil and salt to the boiling water before adding the spaghetti. I stirred it well and covered it to boil. After five minutes, I drained the water, rinsed the spaghetti with cool water, and cooked it again until tender. I love my spaghetti tender but still firm. Once it reached the right texture, I drained out the remaining water, and that was it for the spaghetti.

Second step

The Liver

I heated the vegetable oil in my pot and added chopped liver. I was amazed as I watched the liver dance in the hot oil. After it was fried for a few minutes, I added onions and a mixture of blended tomatoes and pepper, stirring everything well to get a good result.

Once the mixture was properly fried, I added my seasonings: curry, Maggi, and salt. These released a mouth-watering aroma around the premises. After that, I added the veggies, which gave the stew a colorful look. After i stirred for two minutes, I poured the stock I got from the Liver into the pot and allowed it to boil. The outcome was amazing and inviting.

The End Result

This combination had me digging into my plate until I didn’t realize when I finished the food and went for more. I hope you try this out. I assure you, it’s a mouth-watering recipe you won’t want to stop making. This has been my go-to method for making stew every day.

And after cooking a delicious meal, you selfishly cleared the plate and didn't even ask me to come join you is it fair? 🤣🤣

Don't mind me, your meal looks delicious and I love the veggies most especially.

Yum 😋 indeed there are so many ways to enjoy spaghetti and this is a must try.

I don't really like liver but will it come out nice if I use beef?
