Hey guys, I think I'll write a full blog today, so the day starts at 7 am. This was the Fifth International Conventional Expo at the Government University of Faisalabad. They organized many competitions in it.
This expo was held from February 23, 2025 to February 25, 2025. So that was Day One. I will also share my experience of Day two with you.
Experience cultural events, competitions, and networking opportunities.Our university has two campuses, New and Old. I participated in an art competition. So the art competition has been organized in the New Campus.
I woke up at 7 am and our expo was supposed to start at 9 am. I got ready in about an hour and I had put all my painting materials in my bag.
We were waiting for the bus outside. At the same time, I was writing an application because I was going to be late to my hostel today. So I was writing an application that our university has a function and if we are late, then we should be allowed to enter the hostel even after the hostel closing timing.
Our bus arrived at about 8:32 a.m. We arrived before 9 a.m.
Here we were gathered in front of the Quaid-e-Azam Auditorium and given a complete guide.
Here, these people were putting up banners with the logos of various universities and colleges۔
Children coming from other universities and colleges were being given a city tour from 10 am to 1 pm, so during that time we wandered around the new campus.
Our art competition was supposed to start at 1:00 PM, so I was walking around the university with my friend Azka in the meantime. Then we saw the auditorium where the Sufi Night was being held.
Now we had all taken out our own materials and were waiting for the theme to be announced because we were told that the theme would be announced on the same day and that we had to create it by searching on Google or Pinterest.
After some time, the theme was announced as Women Empowerment. My internet was running quite slow there, so I messaged my brother to send me a reference pic regarding this theme. He immediately sent me a reference pic from Google.
I had participated in a painting competition and my friend @azkasultan who was with me did not participate in anything. She had only come to see the expo and to cheer me on. But I felt very bad that when I went for the competition and she was sitting alone in the auditorium. I had requested the management team to let my friend come in with me but they did not listen to me.
This was the reference pic. I didn't know how to start making it. It was a whole new challenge for me because before I started painting on a canvas of this size, it took me five days. I could only do it for about 20 or 30 minutes a day and I was getting tired. So it was like a challenge for me to make this painting in the given time.
Then I made a light sketch based on the reference.
Then I went to the blue color background and did black color in her bow arrow and also in her hair.
And while I was adding details to my painting, a group came to me and stood there looking at my painting, and they encouraged me a lot, which made me very happy.
I also like this pic very much. I clicked it in the sun.
