Happy Sunday hivers!!!!!
It's been a while since I posted a blog with some creative ideas in this community.
And now I am glad that I have something to share with you here.
It's a vegetable recipe and it's benefits for this #creative-sunday.
Who else here loves vegetables?Raise your hands hihi ,kidding aside.
We all know that vegetables are good for our health and as we older ,we realized that we need vegetables in our meal.
When I was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst ,I am trying to eat healthy and leave those bad eating habits that I have back then. Our health is our wealth so we have to take care of it.
Now that I have an ovarian cyst,I am trying my best to eat healthy food.
As much as possible I am not using a cooking oil for my food ,I am trying to skip oily foods.
Good thing that my sister in-law bought an olive oil ,so I am using it to saute that ingredients I needed when I cooked.
Anyway ,someone was selling a fiddlehead fern or Pako in our dialect. She came from the next Barangay and since she is already old I felt pity looking at her so I bought all the Pako she had.
Here's the fiddlehead fern adobo recipe.
Ingredients
-Fiddlehead fern or Pako
-garlic
-soysauce
-cooking oil
-onion leaves
-black pepper
(The only spice available in our kitchen.Much better if you have some tomato and onion.)
Procedure
The part of the fiddlehead fern we needed is the soft part of it which can be cut by our fingers.
Then wash it with clean water.
Heat the pan while preparing the spices ,when the pan is hot, add a little bit of oil just to saute the spices.
Saute the spices and add the Pako.
This vegetable is easily to cooked anyway ,after a minute add soysauce and black pepper.
Then sprinkle some onion leaves and serve.
I consumed 2 minutes on cooking this adobong Pako.
Did you know what's the benefits we can get when eating this fiddlehead fern?
According to my research, the fiddlehead fern or Pako is rich in..
Calcium for the bones and teeth also useful for the proper functioning of heart ,nerves ,muscle and other body system.
Iron that helps in the production of energy in the body.
Thiamine known as Vitamin B for facilitating the smooth operation of our nervous system.
Vitamin A for the healthy eyes, skin and respiratory system.
Phosphorus minerals that assist on bodies burn carbohydrates and fats into energy.
And Fiber that perfectly healthy diet for those who wants to lose weight.
But you have to check if the fern you wants to cook is edible, this kid of fern is usually growing during rainy season and mostly it grows near at the river .The edible fern is glossy texture and curly than the other kind of fern.
This photos below is the fern that cannot be eaten ,usually we used this kind of fern for a decoration or flower arranging.
And that's it for today ,thank you guys for your time .
Have a great day and happy Sunday!
