Before monetizing social media, it has been a platform for news, moderate entertainment and enlightment. I can proudly say I've learnt and still learning a lot of things on social media. But nowadays, creating contents is now outrageous, at times I wonder what's going on in creators mind before letting out such content.
People now do anyhow on their various handles just to pull traffic to themselves all because of money, to me it's craziness!
I've seen a whole lot of contents that are disgraceful, yesterday I stumbled on a rubbish content and I blamed myself for clicking such.
How can a grown woman because of content creation pretended to be spreading her laundries on the line outside her house and a neighbor of hers walked past her and pulled off the towel she tied to cover herself then ran away joyfully, striping her naked in front of the camera.....does that make sense? What of those that play expensive pranks on others? It's not funny to me at all, all I see in such a content is stupidity.
I believe social media is a platform for showcasing talents and as well for learning. Millions of talents have been discovered through it, people can now conveniently express themselves and share knowledge with others from far and near.
So if the inventors of the social media decide to pay those that are dedicated to their platform, I don't see anything bad in it, it's a welcome development.
But ever since people found out that they could earn money from the things they post online, almost everyone has become content creators.
People now prefer to post fake news likewise sexual related contents just to get followers and gather likes than post educational contents. They also make videos of accident scenes and post online for viewers to see what's happening presently in a location.
How on earth will someone in the right senses first think of his or her phone in an accident scene and not to think of helping the victims to the nearest hospital. Lots of accident victims had lost their lives all because of this devilish behavior.
What of those butchering their fellow human beings like animals and videoing it, which they later posted online for the whole world to see..........all these are absurd!
Everyone just what to make money by all means, even the Holy Bible says the poor will surely be amongst us, that means not everyone can be rich. I don't just understand why people had neglected their daily means of livelihood and ventured suddenly into social media all because of monetization.
Presently in my beloved country, monetizing social media is the worst thing that ever happened to us. Spreading fake news, bullying and harassment, becoming public nuisance and promoting promiscuity online is now the order of the day for us now.
Content creators don't care about anything again, they just want to post anything so as to have traffic in their blogs and make money. Those whose contents before monetization aren't related to striping naked have started going for vacations and wearing revealing clothes just to show their sexiness. Abeg who do us like this?
As much as it's good to be rewarded for using social media platforms, I believe there should be moderation in whatever content anyone post online. Just like we have Hive Watchers here on Hive, there should be bodies that deal with the regulation of contents been posted online so that it won't cause harm to humanity.
Thanks for visiting my blog 💕
Like seriously it is never a bad idea the way social media allows people to monetize their accounts but now people post unreasonable things, unnecessary posts and of course unspeakable stuff just to earn at all cost which is not good.
After all there are lots of people this same social media has helped with a good content but no some people just like to destroy every opportunity they get. I won’t blame social media for those girls who expose their private part on the social media for money but I think it is high time the social media filter them out once they post rubbish
Those bad eggs are just there to hinder some people's means of livelihood. If there are proper means for censorship, those rubbish creators will be gone in the twinkle of an eye. Thanks for visiting
Oh my! That actually happened on a video content and it was posted for public to see? Stupidity is an understatement self.
People are doing too much to make money on these social media, that's really bad but it's not enough to get rid of the source of livelihood from people who are earning it genuinely and even in the best ways.
Yes oooo
Those bad eggs should be filtered and allow those with the right content earn for their hard work. Thanks for visiting
You have indeed spoken very well and I think there are bodies that regulates social media contents I mean the things that you post on social media these platforms have established a kind of algorithm that helps filter those contents at least to an extent. I know not all of it is being filtered but I believe in due time these platforms are going to improve on that aspect good write.
They need to act fast on censorship because social media has now become an inappropriate platform
Social media has gone from what we use to know into something I can't explain all in the name of monetisation which isn't a bad idea, it's just that people easily abuse opportunities and that's exactly what's happening.
Explicit content is now the trend for many content creators and some of them foolishly pretend like they make a mistake which is the other way around.
Don't mind them, some even go live on their handles and act inappropriately. We humans take everything for granted, thanks for visiting
I'm quite aware that people can go to any length for the sake of money but the issue does not really originate from monetisation. It is just humans being human.
This issue is a call for censorship of content on social media to curb the spread of inappropriate content.
Hmmm you are absolutely right, with censorship all those madness will be curbed. Thanks for visiting
