I'm always happy we are in the time of holiday, but then, it is the time for us to spend more money even more than what we have been spending for the rest of the month. No one likes to go broke after holidays. Honestly, January is always the longest day and month to me. And for those that are salary earners, they will understand that managing your funds is important because January is so long.
I'm trying my best to manage my finances for the month of the holiday, but for women and ladies generally, this is very possible. You see, guys, managing their finances might not be possible at some point.
Why do I say that? You can only manage your finances if you will be staying home throughout the holiday, but is that even possible? A few days ago, I had promised myself not to touch any money, and I had already had the money I wanted to spend. Well, it's the month of traveling for me and my family. That was last week. I traveled knowing that I would spend some money on my journey. It was actually a program, but more like a family program because everyone in the family will attend the program.
I tried as much as I could not to walk around and see my family because I don't want to spend too much money; there are some of my family and friends that we only meet once a year; in fact, some we can meet in two to three years. Funny enough, I met some of my friends and family unknowingly. I could not resist it; I had to spend more than my budget. I mean, there is absolutely no way I could resist them. These are my favorites anyway.
My point is that it is very easy for women to say, I want to stay on this budget, and they will stay on it. Who will give them money anyway? There are some people you cannot say no to if they ask you to give them. This is because they hardly even ask. So the best someone can do is to always plan ahead, knowing that at the end of the year, you are going to spend some money.
What I do is save up money; I know well that I have a lot of people to give money to; even my elder sister will ask me for money, not to talk of my nephews and cousins. I mean, you just have to do it anyway. In short, it is just good to have more money so you can spend money on them when they need it.
We all know that the holiday is just once a year, and of course it requires spending lots of money.
Apart from family matters, what exactly do men buy? The only thing I spend my money on is food; I don't buy clothes, not even jewelry, so it is easy for me to keep money, but there is no way you want to keep money and still keep it away from your family.
I can only pray that we should keep having more money, as for me. It is only in December that I don't have budgeting on how to save my money, because I will spend more than what I budget.

Moremoney needing more money...lol
You are right. When one has a lot to spend on, the best is to plan ahead not to spend all with them which would eventually make them go broke. Wisdom, too is needed.
I don't really think it is entirely gender based when it comes to spending but truthfully most men tend to spend more than women during holidays due to external figure demands. It is true that spending becomes unavoidable at some point but someone still have to ensure he/she doesn't cross his/her spending limit too often.
It is really important for anyone during this period to know how to save, as the end of the year is a time for many celebrations and this requires a certain amount of money to cover everything.
