Work but don't overdo it.

in Hive Learnersyesterday

For someone that loves what he or she does as work, you have workplace burnout all the time. I mean, you wouldn't even know you are working too much till you fall sick. Some people have work burnout and pass out because they are yet to be aware of it; meanwhile, some companies don't even give chances to their coworkers.

We have heard stories of how people are driving and then passing out; in fact, some people will be working on the road and collapse all of a sudden. This is all caused by too much of work without rest. Some people do over time, if you check why some young dies, too much of work is also part of it.That reminds me. I once had workplace burnout.

I'm someone who loves to work a lot, especially when it is taekwondo or any kind of fitness training. In the year 2022, I was a sports director in my school, and I worked from Monday to Saturday without resting. In fact, most times I work throughout the week with no rest. I did that for months and never thought of resting.Until the day I collapse, I collapse to the extent that I couldn't work. I fell sick and can't even go to the hospital; I can't go to the toilet or even eat. The nurse came to take care of me until I got better, and this took almost a month. Since then I've known that working too much can kill you.

Here are ways to avoid workplace burnout.

Take a break: Regardless of what you do, always try to take a break during work; don't work to the extent that you will not have time to have your lunch. Take breaks every day, even if it's just 20 minutes of the time.

Vacations: This is also a break, but a long-time break; leave work for a week, a month, and so on to enjoy your holidays. Discount yourself from work and meet with friends, hang out, and talk about life. In fact, from vacation, you can also learn new things, skills, and so on.

Work hours and boundaries: it is so good to set boundaries at work and not allow anyone to use you at work hours. If the work hours are seven hours. Don't spend seven hours and thirty minutes. Overworking will kill you.Your health is your wealth: create time for your health, try to visit the hospital sometime, and try to do exercises even if it's just twice a week; all these will relieve you from any kind of stress.

Balanced diet: Eating good food is very important; some people don't take time to eat at all, no breakfast, no lunch. Eating a good diet will make you relax and even have energy to work well.

Talk when you are tired; once you realize that you can't take it again, talk to the manager who you are working with. In case you have any kind of illness or case and you need a break, let your manager know about it.

In summary, knowing your work time and your free time is very important. Don't overdo it, especially when you are working for someone; do not let anyone use you. It is better not to do anything than to let someone use you. Because if you die, someone else will replace you.

Some of us are joking with our health. I know people that even when they are free that they supposed to rest, they still find something else to do. Our bodies are not woods, they can breakdown too.

Taking a break is very important, it can relax our mind and bodies and make us fit for the task again

Don't overdo work; I like that part; people overdo things. Maybe they just want to get noticed or what.

People forget that they are human and can break down at any point in time. The body should be give the rest it deserves.

You have laid out the perfect strategy to avoid burnout. If we don't take time to prioritise our health and body, we would develop sickness which would stop us from working eventually. We just have to limit how much time we spend working, we shouldn't over do it at all.

Yes it is always good to take good care of yourself and health, but it's more advisable to get your hand work or work with the government but private sector hardly provide such opportunity
