One thing that makes the world go around is selling and buying. Each day, we conduct transactions for various things we need and do in life. Without selling and buying, the world would literally come to a halt. One thing I’ve come to learn about trading is the fact that not everyone makes profit. Using the crypto world for instance, someone has to lose money for someone to gain money. That’s the the rule of life. Not everyone is bound to leave the game smiling. Only the fittest survive in a world of trading.
Personally, I didn’t use to know much about trading until I started rolling with my mom. She had her own business and one thing I took from her is to always be honest and not try to cheat people. There were so many shops around where my mom’s business was but almost everyone came to buy from her because she had the lowest prices and the best customer service. Someone could come to buy something and end up chatting with my mom for almost 30 minutes. It was more like she had a way of building such bonds with her customers.
But,as I grew up, I saw the different sides of the world. I started to purchase stuff from different places for different purposes and that brought to light the difference in people when it comes to trading. Speaking of bad experiences, I’ve had so many of them and one that frustrates me all the time is one I’m facing in my current place of stay. Where I’m currently living is not where I grew up. I’m not a native here and that means that there would be a language barrier. I’ve struggled so much with this but I’m finally starting to break it.
However, it always annoys me when people try to cheat me because I’m not a native or because I don’t understand the language. For example, anytime I go to the market to get foodstuff, especially tomatoes, I always tell these vendors I want hard ones because I plan to keep them for a week or two. It’s not like they’re giving it to me for free, I’m actually paying good money for it. They show me one or two hard ones and just transfer everything into a rubber for me. I get home only to realize that I’ve been given spoilt and very soft tomatoes that I can’t keep for even two days. It always baffles me how someone can be this heartless , but I’ve learnt my lessons now.
On the flip side, there’s always good people out there among all bad ones we encounter on the daily basis. In the same place I’m living, there’s this man in town where I buy stuff from anytime I go out. He’s very kind to me and he sells to me at affordable and normal prices. He doesn’t take the opportunity to cheat me and that just makes me feel that good people do exist. There are even days when I leave my stuff with him and go on my rounds, come back later in the afternoon and my stuff are still there and in good shape. He doesn’t even touch them and this is something not most people can do. Some people will always find a way to rummage through your stuff with no shame whatsoever. So, when I meet people who are this open and kind, it makes me see the world in a different light.
In all we do, we are all bound to have both good and bad experiences, but let’s not let that take away our light. Always be the light in someone’s darkness.
