Beyond Borders

My love for adventure is what made me travel to 16 states so far within my country, yet I am not satisfied until I have the opportunity to travel to one of my favorite countries aside from mine.

Since my teenage stage, when I started understanding about life, I have admired being in a different country to learn about their way of life, visit nice places over there, explore their food and languages, mingle with the whites, and just be alright. Nothing else mattered those days but how I could grow wings and satisfy my fantasies; watching it on TV wasn't enough; it made my desire to be grown stronger, but unfortunately, I couldn't do anything about it; of course, many wishes aren't horses.

Good enough, the digital era we are in now made my dream come a little bit closer. I have been from afar but visited some favorite countries of mine virtually. I could be relaxing on my bed and taking a tour of a choice country, feeding my eyes and learning whatever I wish; that's the power of technology. A lot of them have been enticing me due to the information I have grabbed about these countries, but I have yet to experience them in person.

Let me tell you all I know about Japan, one of my favorite countries, what stood out for me, and what I like about the country. You know, one of my in-laws visited Japan for a two-year course; he came back and fed us with much information about this country. I visited the Internet to take a look as well, and since then, I have been seeing myself in Japan in my dreams, though not in the physical world, hehehe.

One thing I love so much about Japan as a country is the quality of life over there that the citizens enjoy. Their healthcare is simply excellent, and I love how the public services are top-notch as well. Once a country values its citizens in terms of health and basic amenities, including prioritizing a clean environment, they have captured my heart, and it's enough to tell me that other important sectors in the country won't be overlooked. Unlike what we have here, Japan has low crime rates, meaning that people can experience peace of mind to a large extent. It's something commendable.

I learned about their transportation system and how they made public transport so efficient. In fact, you wouldn't even feel it if you don't have your personal car; that's the best word I can use to explain how good they are regarding public transportation. From what I read about their tech life, there are lots of things they are good at that make the citizen's life more efficient and make for an easier lifestyle.

I visited a place in Lagos State here a few years back with a friend, and I was opportune to have a taste of sushi, one of the Japanese cuisines, very healthy. I learned that Japanese food is great, but until I taste other of their meals, I wouldn't conclude. I think this country has an admirable cultural heritage too, with a naturally beautiful environment and tourism for relaxation. These are the things I like about this country.

Their rich culture and quality of life are certainly interesting, but it would be wise for me to visit first before considering relocating; until then, I can't say for sure if I would relocate if the opportunity comes.

This is my response to the #HiveLearners community contest on the topic titled, Another Country.

Japan is indeed a beautiful place to live judging by testimonies from tourists and I would love to see things myself someday. I don't have plans of living there because of my terrible learning of language in general. It would be hard for me to live where I can't speak at this point in life.

Hahaha.. language learning isn't easy I must say and it will be hard to Navigate the country without knowing how to speak their language.
But then a visit is also nice 🙂

Mama Japan, I hail thee 😂😂

Most Asian countries are like what you just explained on Japan. Countries like Singapore and South Korea, are beautiful countries that have modernized and well developed amenities.
