Stressed and Overworked?

in Hive Learners15 hours ago

It's very easy to lose passion over the job you do when you gradually allow burnout to creep up on you before realizing it and before seeking ways to avoid workplace burnout. Imagine being drained physically and emotionally, always. Imagine not managing your energy well due to the workload you have to deal with always. Definitely, your well-being will be at stake, which is one negative effect of burnout.

Sometimes, I doubt if there's anyone who doesn't experience burnout at different level depending on the type of job you do. Each day, there are various responsibilities to deal with, both in your workplace and in your home. When money is involved, you can even get lost in your job and keep pushing beyond your limits; it's natural and common to most people. There are always deadlines to meet, and this can get you very occupied to the extent of forgetting to take a little step back and observe rest when necessary. You feel so exhausted and overwhelmed due to your workload, and burnout becomes inevitable.

Personally, each time I experience burnout, the feeling of resentment will overtake me and for no reason, I will become angry at myself and to anyone around me , transferring aggression unnecessarily. Productivity will become a hassle because I am already mentally drained and can't do anything meaningful anymore. It's okay to keep pursuing success and your life goals, but it's better NOT to neglect burnout when you see it coming to enable you to keep up with your work responsibilities and remain productive.

Having said that, there are a few tips I have practiced in the past that helped me avoid workplace burnout, and I will share them with you. You see, no matter how much you are running behind schedule, it's never healthy to keep working for long hours without a break. The last time I checked, the human body is not a machine, and you should realize that and structure your time in such a way that you work and rest at intervals. By doing this, you are helping your body and your brain and indirectly fighting an unforeseen burnout.

Secondly, it can be tiring to keep working continuously without any other activities in between. This is why you get mentally drained easily, but the moment you prioritize self-care by trying to engage in some other activities like setting out time for exercise, eating a balanced diet, and not just any junk available because you are stuck with your job, observing quality rest and sleep, then you feel different and better, looking refreshed both in mind and body and automatically ready for the next task without being overwhelmed. Little things like this matter no matter the degree of your workload.

Maybe some introverts may not see this particular tip as valuable, but having a good rapport with colleagues would definitely reduce burnout. Some workplaces are blessed with toxic individuals, lolz, but then, it makes sense to stick with positive colleagues and share your worries whenever you feel overwhelmed; this has helped me to a large extent.

Wrapping up, burnout seems inevitable, but the emphasis should be on identifying it as it surfaces and seeking solutions.

Workplace burnout can cause you to hate a job you used to love.

Our bodies are not machine and when we don't take time to relax or rest, the body will demand it, but in a bad way. Prioritising self care is very necessary and essential to be able to be productive at the end of the day. Doing the same thing over and over again can cause burnout, this is why we need to practice incorporating some fun activities in between, most especially taking time to rest and sleep.

Even the machines we run day to day usually breaks down, crying for repair not to talk of human body

The truth is there is no one who doesn’t experience burnout because we are all human and we will definitely get tired at some point. Burnout is inevitable except for those who doesn’t work at all because all work had its own ways of making people burnout no matter how sweet the work is.

Yeah that’s true o my sister

My dear If you want to see burn out until you get to all these private schools when a teacher will take up to four classes at a stretch. You will move from one class to the other until you are through for the day.
This is actually crazy. But God will help us.

They are natural stress reliever and helps to escape burnout
Thanks for engaging 🥰

That anger that comes with burnout is always very unsettling. You know that the people you're transferring the aggression to are not responsible for what you're going through, but you can't stop yourself. I know very well what it is.
