In my opinion, yes. The internet, whether you use the browser on a computer or the apps on a cell phone, is what helps you communicate and spread information with other people. As well as being used for learning, you can learn anything on the internet, you just have to want to search and look for it.
You can see that when a government doesn't accept people's criticism, the first thing they start talking about is censoring the internet, regulating networks, because they know how much power we have. So to take the internet away from us is to weaken the people and with that, dictatorial governments and possible governments that want this, strengthen themselves against the people.
