HISTORY IS IMPORTANT..... WELP, MAYBE

History, they say do repeat itself. There is a high probability that the happenings of the past will surely repeat itself, but then, with careful studying and understanding, some bad things that happened in the past may be prevented from happening again in the present or future.

Many people take their time to study history, to study the actions, choices, mistakes and victories gotten by the people who existed in the past. Reasons for this is something i can not actually say, but hypothetically speaking, it gives more insight, like, seeing the world through the eyes of people that have witnessed it before, thus, getting second hand experience in other to make better decisions and better approaches towards certain things.

For example, though hitler is hated by many part of the world, his war strategies and other strategies are actually genius and can be applied in in the future.

Inarguably, the study of history is good. beneficial to the community and the world at large, i must say, but then, some times i feel like its not important to teach history.

In our world today, not many people are actually interested in studying history as everybody's mindset has shifted from that of our ancestors to how to get billions of naira in a short period of time.

The reign of Gen Z is now, we all want a soft life, no stress and no time to think or teach about the old boring times when Hitler did what he did or when how Britain colonized what ever country they colonized.

From my point of view, teaching history has its own benefits, but then, the big question is, are we still interested in those benefits that the knowledge of history bring to our table? Seriously, I do not care to know wether or not this or that country was the greatest or was the smallest before it became large or small, all I care about are things that will impact my financial and social growth.

In schools, they do not teach you how to manage your finances, the do not teach you what to do or say in an interview, they do not teach you how to be a better father to your children, neither do they teach how to properly manage life and people when you are rich and balling, all they teach is the skills needed to be a 9-5 slave, know lots of things without knowing how to apply it in real life situations. Tell me, what is the use of history in real life? To understand the past? Why do I want to understand another persons past when I can't even understand my own past to know what or how I mis-used my money last week?

Personally, I don't see the reason why most aspects of history is being taught in school. I can understand the fact that dinosaurs and other extinct animals are being taught, but then, why the hell should we know about other things?

Some aspects of history is really good, in terms of trading, one can use he past price to determine he future price, that's perfect, but then, other aspects of history are not necessarily important

Countries that have succeeded are those who always remind their children the reason they do the things they do. Just like the saying I started from the shoulders of those before me.

with acurate studying of the past, we can be able to tell some details of the future, not only that, we can be able to avoid some things..

The only part of history I would like to see being taught in schools is same aspect you've mentioned, such as trading, and then how the heroes fought for our good. Other than that and like you've mentioned I don't see the need why animals and how they went into extinction should be taught.

there are many important and less boring parts of history to be taught.
