Hello, everyone.
Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learner's featured post. Technology has affected every aspect of life, from transportation to means of communication, and even agriculture was not left out. Back in the day, we used cutlasses and hoes to carry out agricultural activities, but the evolvement and improvements of technology have made mechanized agriculture possible. Those days, we depended on manpower and animal power to carry out agricultural activities, but technology has provided us with machinery that is even faster and more efficient.
Technology brought about a great breakthrough in every aspect of life; it made life a lot easier and even more enjoyable, though access to these things comes with a cost. Looking back at how things were before now, we come to realize how much technology has impacted the life we live in. Sometimes I try to picture life without the amount of technology we have at our disposal, and all I can say is that life would have felt really different, and we would lack a lot of things.
Mechanized agriculture has made overcoming agricultural tasks easier, faster, and in a more efficient way. In my 300 Level we had to do a practical by planting beans, we were divided into two groups and one group was to get their activities done manually while the other were to get all their activities done mechanically and with the use of machines. I happened to fall in the group of those that were to do the practical manually, and when we started, even before we finished clearing the land allocated to us, those using machines were already tilling the soil and making ridges while we were still trying to clear our own piece of land.
They were steps ahead no matter how hard we tried to meet up and cover the gap, and it was all thanks to the machines technology has made available for agricultural activities. While all we had to spend was time and energy, for the other group, they had to spend money every time the tractor visited the farm. Members of the group Keith complain about how much they are required to pay every now and then if they want the job to go on, but on our part, we spent very little money, but a lot of energy was invested to get every job done on our part, while on their part, they silently put in little energy but a lot of money.
Technology has made farming really easy with less energy input and less work, but a lot of money and resources are needed to actually have access to these technologies. Not every farmer can afford the cost of mechanized agriculture, and slowly it is becoming rampant and sooner or later will be the only means of cultivation, kicking poor farmers out of business as our traditional methods of farming are slowly becoming a thing of the past.
Tired me thinking about my life at this point and how mechanisation has indeed made farming easy. All inages used are mine
Those days we only had a few methods for preservation of farm produce, but the advancement of technology has made more methods of preservation available, and now farmers can store higher amounts of products. Some of these preservation methods offered to us by the advancement of technology reduce the quality of food and are still expensive, but I believe that is the price we have to pay if we want to store or preserve higher amounts of our food or farm produce. Technology has affected agriculture greatly, but having access to this technology will always cost a fortune.

However, the advancement of food preservation is costing us our health and the food's nutritional value.
It is well!
That's the truth, the about of chemicals they add is really harmful to health.
Technology makes farming more easier but the chemicals people are applying to the crops make everything unsafe for consumption.
That's just the disadvantages of the advancements of technology.
