Hello, everyone.
Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learner's featured post. It is really okay to have a favorite, but moving in a way that is inappropriate is what makes having a favorite footballer, artist, or celebrity look bad. People move in a way that is inappropriate, and you hear them say, "You know he is my favorite, and whenever he is involved, I cannot really control how I behave." I am not the type who has a favorite celebrity or is a big fan of any celebrity, so sometimes I wonder why people do the whole stance thing and take it so seriously and even to the point of becoming very aggressive.
Sometime last year when Odumodu Black came to my school to perform, we almost had multiple cases of stampede because his fans were struggling to get to touch his hands while he was on stage. They did not even watch what they were standing on or walking on, and in the end, it turned out that a few persons were on the floor, and it took the security so much time to actually get these fans under control and save those on the floor. Some people behave like whenever they see their favorite celebrity, their brain switches off, and they start acting like they are under the influence of something more effective than drugs.
I have seen people stance a celebrity and want to do everything like him; they stop being themselves, and all they want to do is mimic this favorite celebrity of theirs. For this reason, I do not really like those who call themselves WizKid FC because they do the whole stance thing more to the point of getting aggressive if you fail to agree with them that WizKid is good and sings good songs, which we all know out of 10 WizKid songs, you can only brag of 2 good ones, while the rest are just repetition of beats and lyrics, but to them, his every song is good, and it should be good to you too.
Celebrities too go as far as doing things you least expect from them, all because they believe they have a big fan base and this fan base will always support them no matter how bad what they do is, but all this is wrong and uncalled for. A few months back we saw WizKid make a joke with his counterpart (Davido), which was uncalled for, but his fan base took it upon themselves to support him and ensure that whoever comes at him gets it really hot from them, and he was able to get away with all that.
A big fan base should not be the reason you go about doing things the wrong way, and just because someone is your favorite celebrity does not mean you should be sentimental and not call them out when they do something wrong. You can have someone be your favorite celebrity and still not follow them on the wrong path, and that does not reduce the love you have for them, and even celebrities should act right and not go about doing the wrong things because they are celebrities or have a big fan base.
I agree with you, some of these fans over do things, I don't really blame celebrities they are humans too
Celebrities are also human beings and they also have a personal life. I agree with you that many people overdo it which is a very wrong thing. Nowadays some people keep following these celebrities with cameras and record their every action.
You are right celebrity should also meet peacefully with their fan not rudely.
The truth is that the fan base is a direct replica of the celebrity. Irrational celebrities will definitely have irrational fans and they could be very crazy and dirty at the same time.
