That one thing that takes sleep away.

Hello, everyone.

Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learners' featured post. I doubt if there is anyone out there that is completely problem-free; we all have that one thing that either causes us sleepless nights or forces us to overthink. Though there are many like myself who try to act strong and act like everything is okay, deep down we wish things were not the way they are. Gone are the days where a problem shared is half solved. These days, when you share your problem, you just give people something to talk about.

image is mine.

I know I am not the only one who prefers to keep their problems to themselves instead of opening up. When I am alone, I can break down and cry, but the moment I come before people, I man up and act like everything is okay. Only a few people look at me and know something is wrong when I am having challenges; they might have pointed out I have a problem, but I am never sharing. Before I open up, I must have given my all and realized I really couldn't beat it, and I opted into sharing. Maybe help could come from there. Truth be told, I have a lot of things bothering me right now. A lot of things tend to keep me awake at night while others sleep, and I wish a solution could come my way before things get out of hand.

Currently, I feel the major problem I have that is causing me sleepless nights is the same problem many other Nigerians are dealing with as well. The country's economy, we really don't know and can't say in which direction the economy is going. Ever since the president-elect took over power, things have gone from bad to worse. They keep giving us promises to hold onto while things go from bad to worse. If you walk around the street, you will see for yourself and confirm that people are really suffering.

The inflation of goods and services is one thing I cannot comprehend. When the price of a dollar to naira skyrockets, the price of goods and services does the same, but when the price of a dollar to naira drops, the price of goods and services remains the same, waiting for the dollar to rise again, so it goes higher again but never returns to the price it used to be. This has made it very difficult to eat like you want to. These days, you need to be financially ready before you plan on cooking a good pot of soup.

The price of goods in the morning differs from the price of the same goods in the evening; it's frustrating, and we wish for a solution. Before things got this bad, I knew families that were struggling to cope. Now, with how bad it has become, I don't even want to imagine what it will be like for families like that. Our naira is losing value. Gone are the days where 10,000 naira was a lot of money and families could manage with it for days, but today even a student cannot manage such an amount as it's not enough.

My biggest problem is my country's economy. It is depressing when you toil from morning until night, but the economy makes it look like you did nothing. Sometimes I pity the men who run public transport, as all the money made is spent on fuel.

Thanks for reading my post.

I really hate to think about this, the masses are barely surviving while the government are filling their tables with the best of the land.

It's not easy for the masses while our politicians enjoy, the country and the government failed the people.

Inflation was something that hits very hard from where I live. Transportation alone cost almost twice compared to 3 years ago.

We are suffering the same thing currently, transportation is now four times the price it used to be.

That was sad and depressing.

Very true words, when you share your problems with people, there are those who are happy that you have that problem while the others will offer no solution to your problem, the rest will just compound your problem.

Now we don't know who will offer a solution and who is out to laugh at us, more reason it's better to keep it to yourself.

This really got me laughing man😅, but this is reality in our world today. The countries economy is really affecting us, and it's real a burden. We just hope everything will be good soon.

I am starting to doubt the country ever getting better, the country and the government failed the people.
