Hello, everyone.
Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learners' featured post. Everything related to arts used to carry a message unlike what we have today, where art has lost its value and just anyone can create one with no meaning, no message, and no value and put it out for the consumption of the general public. In those days, every art carries a message, and to join the industry, you must have what it takes. Today just anyone can join, whether they have what it takes to keep the arts industry thriving or not; with a few bribes and knowing a few people, anyone can now be part of it.
Art is a beauty of its own, but people fail to give it the appreciation and accolades that it deserves, probably because they do not understand the value or message it carries. Not everyone gives art the respect it sure deserves; only a few people who understand art and the message it carries really give art the value and respect it sure deserves. Amazing how a single piece of art can hold a thousand messages, and there can be different meanings and interpretations to a single art piece too; understanding of art can vary from one person to another, and nobody would be wrong, as that is the message they were able to obtain from looking or listening.
Art is a product of people's imaginations, thoughts, feelings, and emotions, a product of when people just let themselves flow with nothing stopping the flow, which is why I feel every piece of art ought to carry a message, whether drawing, music, or drama, as that is the way many people manage to express themselves. Rating art or valuing it actually comes with understanding and being able to interpret the message that comes with it; you cannot expect one who does not understand the message it carries to give the same rating as one who understands it all.
I have seen in movies where an art auction is being done and the amount people are willing to pay for it; truth be told, some don't look so good, but if people are willing to pay such huge amounts for it, it simply means they went beyond just the looks and can see something others cannot see. Art is the best explanation for the phrase "There is more that meets the eye," which simply means there is more to what we see; it does not just end at what is put before you.
Some people use the arts as their only means of communication, which is why I feel every art holds an important message, and it is only left for us to understand and figure out what the message each and every art carries is. Sometimes it is difficult and needs a lot of knowledge to actually get a hold of the message, but that does not make it less meaningful. Lately, with recent happenings, I have just decided to be a person who just enjoys arts when I see one or listen to one and not go after trying to understand the message. If in the process of enjoying the piece I get the message fine, and if I don't, it is fine too.
You know, it makes it fun when someone starts talking about a piece of art, its meaning, thoughts behind it and its purpose rather than one that doesn't convey any thoughts or feelings in it. Everyone, both good and bad are into the art industry now and it's worse these days.
It's getting worst and slowly arts is losing its value.
Thanks for reading.
in an art work, there should be at least a message in it. from my perspective, that is what qualifies a work as art.
It was so but not anymore, these days anything can be presented as art and we are forced to believe it is.
Yeah, at least you enjoy every bit of the piece this way
Thànks for stopping by.
