I've been saying this for years. In my country most of services are public and offers bad quality of services. For example, the electric service is almost free and is always failing for 2/3/4 hours almost everyday.
If it was private they would have enough money to invest in the infrastructure so they can offer a good service that doesn't fail.
My thinking is like this, today it can be said that a lot of things that come from public action don't work, so as much as it's free and that's good, the quality and delivery of the result is horrible, so I'd much rather pay more but have my service guaranteed, that the result will be delivered.
