By the time everyone's done with the festive season - oh my gawdd - you'll almost not recognise some of us. Like fresh bread out of the oven, our uniforms tight, our hair shining, and wallets fat with allowance. The new term always felt like a new beginning in January, until it no longer was.
In secondary school, the holiday basically ends when school resumes. No rocket science there. But it was different in the university. Almost like there was no longer peace...
Nobody knows how we got here, but the semester at the end of the year almost never concludes in December here. Then January comes and exams begin. No, tell me. Just tell me how I should rest with peace of mind when there are 29 PDFs and counting on ground. Is that one holiday like that?
I don't want to know what you're studying. As you're dividing the chicken with your teeth, the lecturer is dropping one more PDF. "Sir, can we focus on the reason for the season for now?" Then—nothing like first Monday anymore—2nd of January, we back on the road for war at school. Big difference between secondary and university.
The thing about university is that it gives you a glimpse of real life. Nobody sends your daddy. 24th of December, you work half day, and then you resume 2nd of January. Anything more than that, your boss is being generous in these times. But let's be honest, some of us are doing Detty December on the side.
It is this season that you know the true color of people around you. Those ones that shout, "Eyy, economy this, economy that," you'll just be seeing their status updates and be like, "Eh ehnn?? This same economy."
Okay, okay. I may have also had a little more fun myself this December than usual. I mean, why not? January comes, and we're back to our routines. Might as well just seize the moment. And I may have underrated some of the events I attended. I had such a blast in the dinner nights, gospel concerts, reunion with old friends, and the beach hangout where I showed them who the whale is. Fun fact: my mother's birthday was on Christmas day, so double the celebration, you know.
Back in the school, I hardly looked forward to being in school in January. Whether we had exams or not, it always meant time to study hard and do a lot of homework. It's not that different now, though, as you either have to work hard or allow life to be hard for now. I look forward to getting back to things and exploring new opportunities. January is going to come anyway.
Until then, I am thankful and grateful for 2024 and all of its good and not-to-good tidings, and for this festive season when we get to be extra merry and joyful. What's it for you? Looking forward to your routine, or do you dread it?

Greetings friend, that whole experience is great and it is a reality that many people have to go through, for example here it is different and everything begins to activate from January 6, the days before are holidays, without a doubt it is something that one get used to it and return to the reality of work and studies. 29 PDF means a lot. I am curious to know average page number in PDF. If you need to face the study pressure in holiday time, half our the enjoyment ends there.
So, Christmas days is your mother's birthday. That's indeed a matter of double celebration.
Trust me, man, they're usually voluminous. And it gets harder by the level.
