Good day, people of Hive! Welcome to my blog. Today's topic is When Does Your Holiday Start? Let's dive into it.
We are already in the last month of the year, the month everyone eagerly waits for, especially students, because of the holiday break, which is my favourite part of the year because, until we resume, there’s no more reading, attending lectures, or doing assignments. This is the period that most students are happy about since many have already made plans for how their holiday will go.
For those who love travelling, they will use this holiday break as an opportunity to explore new places. As students, we always look forward to the end of the semester because holidays follow right after. It’s the perfect time to spend with family and friends and also stay away from the stress of lectures and assignments.
But the question now is: when does my holiday start, and how do I plan to spend it?
My school will be giving us a holiday break starting on December 20th, and I’m really excited about it. Although the break is short, I still will make use of it because once we resume, lectures will begin immediately. Despite this, I am really happy because my brother and I will be travelling to our hometown to spend our holiday break with our family and loved one's because it has been a year since we last saw our siblings, dad, and the rest of our family.
Since our holiday falls during the Christmas period, I know the break will be even more enjoyable, with Christmas and New Year adding to the joy.
During the holiday, I also plan to study because, after resumption in January, we will have our first-semester exams within a month or so. Being in 300-level now, I know I need to study more seriously because the higher the level, the harder the exams get. I intend to study hard so that I’ll be fully prepared and read well when the exams come.
However, I also plan to enjoy myself to the fullest with my family because, after this holiday, I don’t know when I’ll get to see them again. Honestly, I’m eagerly counting down to December 20th so I can travel. School has been exhausting, waking up early for 8:00 AM classes and staying at school until 4:00 or 5:00 PM most days. The only time I get home early, around 2:00 PM, is when one of our lecturers is absent. Even then, they make sure to leave us assignments and materials through our course rep, so there’s always work to do.
Since I’ll be travelling, I’ve already started buying everything I need, including a Christmas gift for my dad. I know he’ll love it and be happy because it has been a long time since I last saw him, so I need to buy him something.
In conclusion, during my holiday break, I intend to enjoy myself by eating as many different food and drinks as I can. I’ve missed homemade food so much, and I want to make the most of this holiday.
