Good day, people of Hive! Welcome to my blog. Today's topic is "Hardest Of 2024," so let's dive into it. I'm glad that there are only two months left until this year will comes to an end, and I'm excited about it. I would love to extend my gratitude to God for keeping me alive from the beginning of this year to this moment. Though it hasn't been easy, I will always be thankful.

The hardest thing I have done this year is prepare myself for my 200-level second semester exam. Normally, I'm always relaxed when it comes to studying for exams, though I do read, but not that hard, but this time, I had to change my method. You know the feeling of changing from not studying hard to a strict routine, giving up the things you love doing just to focus on your exams? That's exactly what I did during my second semester exam. When I was still in 100-level and I saw my results, I wasn't happy with the results, and my results didn't meet my expectations, and my 200-level first semester exam wasn't much better due to how weak I was then and the stress I passed through back then. That's when I decided that I had to do whatever it took to prepare properly for my second semester exam.

Since my primary school days, I've noticed that I am this type who waits until the last minute to study. If I had one week left before the exam, that's when I would start reading, and that doesn't stop me from not passing. But after seeing my 100-level results, I realised that starting to be reading early and being consistent with my study time is far better than waiting until the last minute.

This change wasn't easy for me at the beginning because it was hard, but I had to give up what I enjoyed most and focus on studying daily. Like the Yoruba adage says, "Eni to ba fe je oyin inu apata koni wenu ake," meaning "He who wants to eat honey inside a rock must struggle to get it.". What this adage is trying to say is that if someone wants to achieve something big in life, they must be prepared and ready to work hard for it. That's exactly what I did. I put in more efforts during my second semester exam just to improve my grades. If my results for my second semester exam come out and I succeed in achieving what I was aiming to achieve, I'll surely be happy.

Here are the lessons I learned.

(1) Studying a little every day is far better than cramming. Meaning, if I try to cram everything I read last minute, I will forget about it, but consistent reading or studying will surely help me remember it.

(2) Knowing and addressing my weaknesses can help improve my results. Meaning: One of my weaknesses during any exam is anxiety. Sometimes on the exam day, I do get nervous and anxious and mostly forget what I've studied. But I've learned how to calm myself down and encourage myself, which helps me recall all that I've read.

In conclusion, the hardest thing I did this year was to change my method to study, and I can say it's been a good experience.
