Good day, people of Hive! Welcome to my blog. Today's topic is "Can you be an influencer?". So let's dive into. We all know who a social media influencer is. They are known for their popularity and are famous on social media.
Do I feel that being a social media influencer is something I can do?
No, because I don't want to become a social media influencer and also am not capable of the responsibilities, the ethics, and the value, because if I want to become a social media influencer, I would have to start doing things I'm not comfortable with, which I don't have the mind to do. And I will explain some reasons why I said I couldn't become a social media influencer.
(1) Being an influencer requires a lot of constant creation of new content just to keep people interested and updated, which I can't do just because I can't stress myself just to keep people interested, and I don't want stress just because I am trying to stay popular.
(2) Those people doing social media influencer must share a lot of their personal life online, which I can't do because I love keeping my private life and I love staying far away from public attention.
(3) Social media is a place that's full of hate, and criticism, which is hard to deal with. Which am not interested in facing or hearing any mean comments from strangers and my followers online, which can lead to someone committing suicide, etc.
(4) Being an influencer is like a full-time job because you need to post your content regularly, and I am not interested in doing such a thing; to post on WhatsApp status is a problem, not to mention the constant posting of your content.
All these things can't make me become a social media influencer. Among the social media influencers, I would love to talk to one who faces criticism from her followers.

One of the most popular social media influencers and my favourite celebrity is Funke Akindele. Funke Akindele is a leading figure, and she's also an actress in Nigeria; she's famous and popular among people. So there was an incident that happened in 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdown. She hosted a birthday party for her husband and invited a lot of content creators and celebrities into her house to celebrate her husband's birthday party, despite the fact that the government gave a warning and imposed restrictions on movement and gathering to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, yet she still hosted the party. She and her husband were arrested for violating the lockdown rules.
Because of her actions, the video from the party went viral, making her followers upset and start criticising her for not following the rules; some even said she was among the people that appeared in a public urging people to stay at home and stay safe, yet she's still the one that didn't abide by the rules. Though she later came out and apologised in public for her actions, what she did caused her followers to say bad things and criticise her. After witnessing what she passed through from her followers and how some social media influencers are facing from their followers, I would now say I would want to do it, then it's a capital NO.
Would I rather do something else than get myself into such a business?"
Then yes, I would rather do something else than involve myself in such a business.

To be or remain a public figure and using deceit tactics leads to the lonely road of guilt, frustration, and anger.
Yes, you are right.
Being a public figure is not easy however I believe one can still brace up to overcome the challenges. Some times we may not know the potential we carry.
Anyways the challenges you mentioned are real and I could reasoned why you wouldn't want to be one.
Yes, to become a social media influencer we've to face all what that comes our way.
Thanks, pandex.
