Good day, people of Hive! Welcome to my blog. Today's topic is "A Parent Absent," so let's dive in.
Growing up with only one parent is not an easy experience at all for any child. Whether it is the mother or father who is absent, their absence can really affect the child in many different ways. We have some children who grow up just fine with one parent, while others struggle emotionally, physically, etc.
Many people believe that having both parents in a child's life is important, which is very true, because each parent plays a different role. But some argued that what really matters is how well a child is raised, whether by one parent or two which is also true. Let's look at how a child's life can be affected.
In a normal situation, both parents contribute to raising the child in different ways. The mothers are the ones who provide emotional care and support as well as nurturing the child, while the father is seen as a protector and provider as well as the role model who the children are looking up to. Though this doesn't mean that a single parent cannot fulfil both roles; they can, but naturally, having both parents allows for shared responsibility.
My dad is a single parent because I and my siblings lost our mum when I was 13 years old and was in JSS2 (Junior Secondary School). Though it wasn't easy for Dad, but I thank God that my eldest siblings are working while I am the only one little among them, and my dad makes sure I never lack love and support anytime I need it, which I am grateful for. So let's go back to the topic.
For example, when a child has both parents, there is usually a balance. The father may sound strict when needed, while the mother provides comfort when the child feels sad. When one parent is absent, the child might lack one of these aspects, which can affect their development.

The Effects of an Absent Father.
When a father is absent, the child might face a lot of challenges, especially in areas like discipline and financial stability. In many societies, fathers are seen as the providers of the house, and when the fathers are absent, the burdens fall on the mothers, which can lead to financial struggles and also make it harder for the child to access education.
An absent father can cause emotional effects on the child, making the child feel they were abandoned, especially if they see other children with both parents; they will feel sad and unhappy.
The Effect of an absent mother.
If a mother is absent in a child's life, the child may lack emotional warmth, care, love, etc, though the father can provide it but the difference would be there.
If a father raises a child alone, he might face difficulties in understanding the emotional needs of the child, especially if he's raising daughters. The job that's meant for the mothers, and they are now the ones doing it; it can be challenging for them.
In conclusion, the absence of a parent can have a great impact on a child's life, whether emotionally, financially, etc. If a father is absent, the child may struggle with discipline and finances. And if a mother is absent, the child may lack care, love, etc.
However, despite these challenges, a child can still grow up to be successful with the right and proper upbringing. A single parent, with a lot of love, discipline, and support from family and friends, can still raise a strong and responsible child. In the end, what truly matters is not how many parents a child has but how much love, care, and guidance they receive.

Your truly right sis with the mention of both parents sharing responsibilities which helps to ease of stress most times.
Because in single parenting hood, its really a big task for only one parent which brings lots of stress.
There is not doubt that there will be balance in the family if both parents were there because it is not easy to be the father and the mother at the same time.
