Social Media came to the forefront about ten to fifteen years ago and since then it has grown in popularity and there will be no stopping it. Over the years, more platforms have emerged and changes have been made to existing ones. Tell us two reasons you like social media. And also two reasons you feel it is bad.
Lately I am beginning to loose interest on social media but if I will judge without sentiment I will still give some value to social media because it has safe me alot of times when I needed to communicate with friends but I can't afford the cash for airtime. Social media is actually designed with the main purpose of mingling and chatting with friends online and has time goes on the evolution of easier and smarter way of communicating with our love ones on social media was improved. Let me explain my point
In the early's I actually started operating the social media when 2go was the reigning social media then, and it was so wonderful and interesting meeting with new people and making friends from various places across the world, to be narrative about this, 2go gradually was loosing it's worth and amount of concentration from the masses when people noticed facebook Facebook has different mind-blowing features than 2go then people gradually threw interest on Facebook and same did I.
We have been rocking Facebook till now thou, but other smarter evolutions like the WhatsApp platform came to existence and you could communicate with each other while looking at yourselves through the cameras. The evolution and innovation of social media didn't just stopped there but we are presently having other social medias with smarter features too like the instagram, twitter, TikTok and many others.
I am registered to all the above mentioned social media but active in none for now, I will brief us why am not active on those social media when I begin to write the reasons I loved social media and reasons why its bad on my perspective.
Reasons why I Loved social media /advantages
I enjoyed communicating with friends for a very long time with lesser expenses because social media requires data and a little data can carry you far on a conversation with friends than the airtime. I can use 300 naira, less than a dollar and buy data which if I will solely dwell on chatting with friends it can take me more than five hours communicating with friends but that is what 2000 naira data almost 5 dollar will not do for me. It is logically plain that social media on this aspect has a very good advantage over airtime and helps us safe allot of cash to pass and get information
Tokenized social media platforms are liberating vibrant youths from poverty because it provides them with work to do and this is the aspect of social Media that glues me to social media till now, we are all in quest for financial freedom and wouldn't want to wallow in poverty so whatever that will lead us towards achievement this positive goal it's important to us let's look at the disadvantages of social media now
Reasons why I don't like social media /disadvantages
Recently, the goal and the aim of me joining most of the social is gradually retrogressing in the sense that the aim is getting defeated. I have gather up huge number of friends that have solely give all of their time to only chat and have fun of which is of no use to me for now. How will I wake up in the morning and the first thing I will start doing is to start chatting and wasting my precious time over irrelevant conversations? I can't do that any longer because I've done that before and I've not withdrew a dime from that. Honestly this is the very big aspect of social media I have started developing phobia for, I prefer talking about important issues and fudging ahead to face realities of life than putting all my time to some kind of nonprofitable act of gisting and investing away my time.
Social Media has now demoralize alot of youths and even adults in this era. The fact that Mr. A has now doesn't mean Mr. B won't have tomorrow but young guys with bright future fall victim of different kinds of crimes and problems because of lack of patience over what they see on social media, how the other ones are dressed and enjoying Life. Some of this people that claim they are doing well on social media don't even have Happy homes, some are even faking it but alot of youths won't understand the fact that life is gradual and patience is the key. I have seen scenarios where alot of youths fall victims of cyber crimes just to come and fake life on the social Media, presently it's getting out of hand because alot of bad characters are transmitted to other youths through this same platform and for the same reason, now that cyber theft is becoming exposed and a little bit hard to dupe people of their assets, some are involving diabolical means to continue the evil act they've started.
I sincerely love social media because of the goals I mentioned here above and I am very sure that's what is still glueing me to some of this platforms. I prefer where I will progress not retrogress.

Yeah... Social media is just full of people that have "made" it. People post only the flashy parts of their lives but leave out the part where they are struggling. Our youths see these and choose to get the money by any means necessary. Just so that they too can make posts on social media and oppress others as well. It is just a vicious cycle.
