From the beginning, God commanded man to be fruitful, multiply, and replenish the earth. This statement carries physical and spiritual connotations in the family, ministry, and business. It is left for us to manifest in the right path or direction.
The results of the name, the "world" are through the population of the people by birth and adoption. By then, they didn't have a scientific method of childbearing. They went through childbearing naturally, which was a normal thing. Some women give birth to children without complications and some do with severe pain and marks on their body.
However, many women are still going through the natural method of childbearing today because that's their choice; even I would prefer the natural method because I want my child to have both parents' blood connections, and I want to have experience of what motherhood is all about. Over the years, different methods of childbearing have been developed and practiced by some women who aren't able to go through naturally and it worked for them.
These are the different methods of childbearing: natural conception, IVF, IUI, ICSI, surrogacy, adoption, donor-assisted pregnancy, fertility preservation, and many more methods.
Today, the #Hivelearners contest is asking us to discuss one of these methods, which is surrogacy. Surrogacy is a method in which a woman or surrogate carries and gives birth to a child for the intended couple. There are two types of surrogacy which are; traditional surrogacy involves the surrogate biologically related to the child because of her egg, and gestational surrogacy involves the surrogate carrying an embryo of the egg and sperm of the spouses without any surrogate genetic link to the child.
What are your thoughts on surrogacy?
My thought on surrogacy is that it is an alternative method for couples to have children, if not for natural conception due to infertility or medical conditions that have affected them. Surrogacy will be good if there is a willing surrogate who would undergo the process. It is a method a lot of married women are using to prevent barrenness or being tagged barren today.
Is this something you feel you would ever get involved in if you had to?
Alright, I think it's not something I should get involved in. That's why I try as much as possible as a young lady to protect or keep myself appropriately so that I do not get involved in this method of surrogacy. I can't pay a woman like me to carry my child for me. And I wouldn't like my husband to have a second thought about this method. It should be my egg and my husband's sperm to create the little creature, which I'm fully aware of carrying for 9 months.
And I want to have the experience of childbirth so I can be a testament to motherhood.
I prefer natural conception and birth far better than any other method. I know people's body differs, but my mother went through the natural conception for the six of us, and there is nothing like complications. Her body is still in shape and intact. I believe I can go through this process without complications.
Is it ethical?
Well, the ethics of surrogacy is difficult and debated depending on the cultural, religious, legal, personal, and social perspectives. Some people will be in support of this ethics and some people will be against it.
Therefore, it can be religiously and legally done or practiced without coercion which can be a blessing to the intended couples, but when force is applied, that's when it's ethically wrong and compromised.
Should this method of childbearing be abandoned in favor of the traditional method?
I believe surrogacy shouldn’t be abandoned, as not every intended couple can undergo traditional methods of conception. Instead, it should be well-regulated to prevent abuse, while offering a valuable option for infertile couples seeking to have children.
In some cases, it may be preferable to adoption for those who wish to maintain a genetic connection with their child.

I think I respect ur opinion on this. It's the desire of many women to carry their own child and birth them, even though health complications beyond control might surface..we pray and hope it wouldn't be our case

Surrogacy has indeed helped renewed lost hopes of some families of never being able to have children nonetheless I believe the feeling is different when the actual mother of the baby births her child herself.
Yes, there is a big feeling when the actual mother births her child herself, she will be able to testify it and share her experience that comes with pregnancy and motherhood.
It can now be the will of every person to have a child in this way. If his mind is satisfied, then he can use this method. If not, then he has to wait for many years.
