I agree with you that women use excessive make-up on their birthdays and wedding days, and this makes them look quite odd. I've encountered many and if you question their choices they'll say they only get to wed once so they must go to the extreme in everything they do on that special day.
Well, we all have our individual differences. However, like you said, moderation is key.
