Some of us might not be religious but sometimes, it just makes perfect sense to attribute certain things to a greater power somewhere, probably because it's a lot more easier for us to understand that way than stressing ourselves and thinking really hard for a different answer as to why something like that happened.
Earlier today, my friend was telling me a story of a mutual friend of ours who's always known to do unexpected stuff at unexpected times. This guy is known to be really stingy with money, yet there are days where he surprises everyone and just randomly do an act of kindness. Although that doesn't happen often, it still leaves me speechless when it does.
Just like earlier today when he came around (he doesn't live here anymore), he had gifted two married women the sum of twenty thousand naira each, just because they were married women. They didn't have to do anything for him, just the fact that they were married was all he needed to know to give them that money...weird I know.
Anyways, it was after he did this that this friend of mine began to tell me the story of this particular time where this same guy in question also did another random act of kindness.
Apparently, he had walked up to a lady and asked her if she could give the sum of hundred naira because he needed to buy water to drink, but she had refused, even though he could clearly see that she had the money on her.
So he had approached another lady and she had given him the money. Immediately she gave him the money, he had pulled out his phone and transferred the sum of five thousand naira to the lady, which was fifty times bigger than what she had given to him.
If you ask me, I feel he did that to make the other lady feel bad for not helping him out, but funny enough, if she had given him the money when he first asked, he probably wouldn't have sent her that extra money anyway, because he had no point to prove then, unlike now where he needed to prove a point that he wasn't asking for the money because he was broke.
But you see, that isn't even the point of this story, because if there's one thing I focused on during the entire story, it was the lady who got blessed. Now some of you might call it luck, but I choose to look at it at a deeper level.
You see, the guy easily could have gone to her first and asked for that money, and if he had done that, he probably wouldn't have given her the extra one that he did, but instead, God had directed him to meet the first lady, so that she could say no to him and then just set up the blessing for the second lady.
Because although her kindness gave her that reward, she wouldn't have gotten it if it wasn't for the first lady's lack of kindness. So to the second lady that got the reward, the first lady was nothing but a blessing in disguise.
Or this is just me thinking too much as usual and she only got lucky.
Lol
I don't like to think too much and attach reasons to these things. Cause, like you said, it could be one of many reasons of which trying to prove a point could be one of them. Well, who knows?
And yeah, maybe you're just thinking much. I'm kidding😅
I guess I just have too many free time on my hands 😂

I also think that if first lady didn't refuse, the second lady would not receive the blessings in my opinion. So, I agree with you in this case and I think exactly how you thought.
