For some weird reason, today's topic kinda reminds me of the saying "Chase money, and women will chase after you later".
For those of us who might not fully understand what that means, it's simply just telling us that rather than spend your time chasing after women, go after money and the moment you become rich, women will be the ones chasing after you... So basically, when you spend time acquiring what people want, they end up running after you for that thing all the time.
Funny enough, the inspiration for today's blog is actually my barber. You see, I happen to have a very talented barber who equally knows how talented he is, so he acts like it.
For the past three to four days now, I've been on the phone with my barber, asking him when he would be available for me to come get a haircut, and everytime it's either he gives me an excuse, or he doesn't show up at the agreed time.
A screenshot of my chat and calls with him (most of the text was written using pidgin english). Also, his nickname is White, hence the name used in saving his number.
This is currently my third year since he's become my barber and it's fair to say that I've gotten used to his drama but sometimes, he does gets under my skin. Although, during the years, I've devised a way to make sure I get him to cut my hair when I want and this involves me hitting him up days earlier than the initial day I plan on cutting my hair...it's a trick that has worked one too many times already.
Anyways, although I know his behaviour with keeping to time is a bad one and he could easily lose customers that way, him still being in business shows how good he is at what he does..and if there's one thing experience has thought me, it is that being good at your job will always bring people back.
Although we know everyone has a limit to what they can take when it comes to things like this, which is why it is always important (especially for business) to be punctual.
Anyways, what I'm saying is that even with a little bit of bad character (like that of my barber), people will still queue up, waiting for you to come attend to them just because you're very good at what you do.
But then again, it also depends on how good your competition is.
