Fuji House of Commotion

Fuji House of commotion is a 1990`s sitcom that's all about a man who got married to more than three wives and had a lot of kids, so everyday, there is always some kind of commotion at the house. Whenever I look at my hostel, I get reminded about that show a lot.

Living in an hostel with over 45 rooms, it's almost kinda normal for you to expect drama at least once a day. And what's surprising is how I've managed to keep myself away from all of that drama for almost six years of me living here.

The latest drama happened last night, on Christmas eve. You see lately, the guys have been flexing a little bit. And I'm not talking about the useful flex we do flex, they've been taking matters a little bit seriously and reporting themselves to the police.

Now you may be wondering why I call that a flex, well it's because it is expensive to call the police on someone. You have to buy forms, pay for some bunch of stuff just to get them to do their job. And why it's like that is obviously due to corruption, but also because the police don't investigate, they work for who pays them.

So they work more like hired security men who are there to arrest whoever you want them to arrest as long as you have the right amount for it.

Well last night, my hostel president had called the police on the hostel vice president. Apparently he had loaned her some money since June this year and she had refused to pay back, she was always telling a story or two and he just got fed up and went straight to the police.

Now what's crazy about this is that reporting her to the police was only going to place her in more debts, because now she not only has to pay back the money she owed him which is over 200k plus interest (rounding it up to about 350k),she now also has to bail herself which I also heard was about 100k due to the festive period (although I might be wrong).

So basically, she's almost half a million naira in debt. When I heard about it, I was lost of words because in one hand I understood why he went that far, and on the other hand, I felt he went too far.

Luckily for the lady, the people around were able to run around and bailed her out around 1am this morning. How they did it, I have no idea... But then I remembered the saying that there's never any money until one gets into trouble, then money automatically comes out from nowhere.

So, there was an incident to share even in the Christmas day. Indeed you are living in such a place there you can see drama everyday without paying fee. Just enjoy the show of others.
