Everyday, I keep getting more and more reasons why I should learn how to cook, just so that I can stop buying food outside, due to how unsanitary it can be out there in these restaurants.
About a month ago, a friend of mine had introduced me to this fast food restaurant where they sold food a bit cheaper there. I was excited when he took me to the spot because food can be real expensive around here, so getting a cheaper place with average food that ain't so bad but still isn't the best either, was okay for me.
So I started going to the shop frequently, especially when I had nothing at home or anyone to help me cook. It was the holidays, so almost all the shops were closed but my favourite fast food shop wasn't. The perfect shop was what I called it. Cheap food and yet they still don't go home for the holidays.
Anyways, whenever I go to that shop, I always picked a sit that is a bit hidden from the outside eye because I didn't want people seeing me sitting there whenever they walked past (I'm a shy eater). But last Sunday, I had decided to go get some food, but this time, rather than sit in my little hideout, I had decided to sit anywhere because they weren't even people around to hide from.
It was while I was seated at that spot, that I got to make a discovery that I wished I had made the very first day I visited that shop. I had sat down to enjoy my meal and while I was almost done, someone else had walked into the shop and placed his order for some food.
I watched as the lady dished out his food with a spoon that hosted a dozen flies on it. What irritated me the most was the fact that she actually saw those many flies on it, she watched them all fly away from the spoon as she picked it up, yet she went ahead to dip the spoon into that pot of stew, mixing the whole thing together before serving the poor innocent guy.
What was even worse was the fact that I too was eating fly infested food. I knew that because I was sure those flies had been there the whole day, and each time someone came to buy food, she would pick up the same spoon, stir the pot of stew, thereby mixing it all up together, before dishing it out.
That is obviously the last time I will be going to that shop, and I honestly pray to God that I haven't contacted some disease that no one has heard of.
Hehe. You find out the truth this time and you won't go there to eat food in the next time for sure. I hope you won't be sick and don't think too much.
